What made you choose your school? I initially chose Davis because of its excellent academic reputation. Then, when I visited, I fell in love with the downtown area that is filled with so many different ethnic restaurants and unique little shops. It is the perfect college town and I love how everyone travels around on bikes!
What activity makes you happy? I love to write and read. Fiction, fantasy, and science fiction novels are my favorite. For me, the best thing in the world is to curl up in my bed with a cup of tea and read a really good book or write a short story.
What is your biggest pet peeve? Commercials on the radio and a movie or book with a bad ending.
What is something about you that might surprise someone? I played soccer and ran track and field in high school.
What is your favorite book, movie, or TV show and why? My favorite book is Ender's Game. It is a science fiction novel that I read in middle school and I have probably read it at least twenty times since then. It has such an interesting plot and transports you to a futuristic dystopian world, where there are child prodigies that are born for the sole purpose to train and save the world from an outside alien race. It sounds super nerdy but it really is an amazing book! I also love Hemmingway's book, The Sun Also Rises. I recently read it and fell in love with his portrayal of a group of partying expatriates living in Paris and Spain.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why? At this moment, I would love to go somewhere tropical, like Turks and Caicos. I have seen pictures and it seems so serene and beautiful there. That would be a dream vacation.
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be? I would be invisible. I would sit and people watch and just observe my surroundings in different locations. I also think it would be pretty cool to be Spiderman and have his powers. It looks fun swinging between all those buildings!
If you had a million dollars, how would you spend it? I would definitely travel. I would plan a year long vacation and go around the world to visit as many different countries as I could along the way. I would also buy concert tickets to all my favorite bands and artists and go to music festivals.
What are your plans for after graduation? After graduation, I hope to travel. It would be fun to teach English abroad for a year, perhaps in China or somewhere in South America, or to maybe find an internship abroad in England.
