It is a great atmosphere for me. I like small towns.

While Abilene may be good for children in elementary school, it's really not good for anything else. There are parks, a zoo, and a skating rink. However, even with three colleges here, there is nothing to do. The people at the millions of churches are very friendly though.

Very boring. You have to make your own fun or go to another city like Dallas to have fun

There is nothing to do in Abilene. Most people leave on the weekends. There is a low standard zoo but that's the only "attractions". Guitars dance hall is where everyone goes on Thursday. That's it.

There's a fairly decent amount to do, but most things close at 9 p.m. I'm a night owl, so that can get very frustrating. And there aren't really many attractions or cool things to do that you might find in a big city, but in my experience it doesn't really seem like you're missing out all that much.
There are lots of good restaurants. My personal favorites are Sharky's, Cypress Street Station (it's pricey though), Middle East, and the Seafood Tavern.
On Thursday nights, lots of people like to go to Guitars & Cadillacs, which is a bar/club where you can dance. If you don't mind a drive and you'd prefer a more family-friendly atmosphere, then head out to the dance hall in Oplin. It's one of my favorite things to do. People also like to go to the lake on weekends to drink.
If you like shopping, don't go to the mall. Aside from a few places like Earthbound Trading Co. & American Eagle, there's not much to see. Check out Betty & June or some other places in downtown Abilene instead.
Overall, Abilene is a pretty sleepy place, where things close early and there's not much entertainment catered for college students. Even so, you can't help but love it there.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
