Guys and girls are very clique'-ish at ACU and if you do not fit the mold, you do not make the cut. People think ACU is the best place to meet your future spouse, and it should be, but because so much emphasis has been placed on the whole "ring by spring" phenomenon, real love and commitment has been lost. Every time I turn around someone is getting engaged or married or having a baby and that is great but it makes me wonder if they really know and love each other or if they have just felt pressured to get engaged or married because they do not want to graduate single.
Abilene has plenty of apartment complex's close to campus but unless you're willing to pay an arm and a leg, you might get a questionable apartment. It is pretty easy to find an apartment but finding one that is affordable and has a friendly staff is harder to do.
It is so much easier to eat on campus and it saves money, when you have a meal plan, but the options provided in the food court are not healthy and they are more expensive than they should be on a college campus. Food in the bean is not bad but it is not good either.
Most of the school is integrated with Apple products because of the Mobile Learning Initiative, but there are plenty of PC's as well. There is always a plethora of available computers around campus, as well as ones you can check out from the library.
Cost and tickets are totally reasonable compared to other schools, but for the students who live off-campus parking can be hard to come by. There are designated spots for student parking, but a lot of them are filled up by 9 AM.
