Process Could Have Been Easier – There are many forms to fill out, but it seems like I got what I needed, and they could give out.

There's not too much to do around campus and off campus. Usually requires money to do fun things.

Health & Safety:
I have used campus safety, they are nice and willing to help.

Not Worth It – the cost is alot (11,000) and more for the nicer dorms. the older dorms are full of new RA's who follow every rule to a T. campus is DEAD on weekends because everyone goes home. but the people who do live on campus are awesome and it's a great experience

Depends Where – there's alot of restaraunts around campus and a majority of them are really good. the campus food is good, but post doesnt have the most appealing choices but the UC is crazy busy at certain times of the day.

Health & Safety:
Too Good – the schools rules are tough and the RA's in certain halls give you very little leeway. public security is top notch though and you're almost guaranteed to see one driving by you every 10 minutes. they even make you sign every single person into your room <---- booooo

The Financial Aid workers are helpful. I did not receive federal work study this year, but I spoke to them and they helped me apply for work study, which I received.

Guys & Girls:
Night Life – The campus is not the most active place in the world, seeing as it is set in a quiet suburban area. There are clubs around campus that students may attend and parties hosted by the University itself, but other than that, students must find ways to entertain themselves.

The Professors are knowledgeable in their respective fields. They, for the most part, make an effort to help the students as much as possible. They are easy-going, yet strict. They go out of their way to make the subject matter easily accessible and understandable to the students.

Its Alright.. The shuttle services are pretty good with numerous buses going places around the same time. The down side is the wait to be picked up--especially if you're going to the mall. Typically the wait to get back to campus is about 2+ hours. Also, many times its just easier to have a friend drive you to destinations because you can get to where you want to go with little hassle.

Pretty Diverse – Adelphi is pretty diverse, with groups of minorities (african american, asian, hispanic, etc.) but is predominately white due to its location on Long Island.

Shuttle buses in my school are available everywhere! There are stops to many places around the area so everything is close by. From the mall, to resturants and even train stops, transportation is always available! for free!

Greek Students are everywhere! They are always putting on programs and activities which are open to everyone, and you do not have to belong to a sorority or fraternity to feel like you belong. They are there if you are interested in them, and there are many options, but you can have fun and make friends without belonging to one.

PATHER PRIDE – There are a lot of people in my school who are involved with athletics, whether it be soccor, baseball, basketball, volleyball, track and bowling to name a few. There are many fields and space to practice as well as places near by. Sports are an important aspect in my school and many people go to show support at games.

Way Better Than on Campus – Luckily there were a variety of places close enough to school to grab a yummy bite. Gyro House was our favorite as they offered a great price and free delivery when we couldnt go out.

Fun and Accesible – It was easy to get off campus and go to social events like concerts or just a coffee shop. Being on campus was a tight knit community that felt supportive and friendly

Need to Be Competitive With Other Schools – I was a dance major at Adelphi. It was a solid program in itself and we had a lot of time spent on technique and performance. However, there was a lack of variety of calsses applicable to real life in the dance world. Other schools offer improv, anatomy, and how to get jobs when you graduate. Ours did not and I felt unprepared for the auditioning world during a recession.

The train is a half mile from the school and the other train station about 2 miles from the school they provide an hourly bus to and from.

The school is close to public transportation which can get you to NYC in less than 30 minutes. The camous is located in an upscale area with many gardens.

To be honest, Adelphi is a beautiful school...the professors are very knowledgable and approachable. But its the little things that make the school go from an A to a C, in my opinion. For one, the new dining plans are not organized at all, so it is already October and I have to ration my meal card 'Panther Dollars' because the cashiers didn't even know how to properly use the system until recently.
Secondly, I was put in the 'international dorm' where they never explicitly said that its occupants move in and out of the hall almost monthly...it is annoying to have to deal with the same problems over and over again, with the added difficulty of a language barrier. They did not tell me this before moving in, and if I knew--I would have requested a room switch.
Additionally, there is NOTHING to do on weekends here--it is so quiet and boring, most people go home just to avoid it. Also, there is nothing to do within walking distance of campus...most students use a car or take the shuttle bus system. But this is tedious at times because you can only go to so many places with the bus system, so it's best to have a car or have a friend with a car.

Not Popular – the drug scene is almost non existent, but this only proves to be true depending on your crew.

the financial aid people are so rude and not helpful at all, they messed up my financial aid this semester and I think it's probably because my mom always calls up and complains to them.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
