Most Popular Sports
The most popular sports on campus are basketball, soccer, and tennis.
Most Overlooked Teams
Cheerleading, lacrosse, softball, swimming, track and field, and volleyball are the most overlooked sports on campus. Although the campus has a sports report that comes out every other week, there is rarely news about these particular teams.
School Spirit
Although there are sports on campus, few people other than the athletes tend to pay attention to them. It's not necessarily because students are uninterested in sports; the most common reason for lack of sports enthusiasm is that many students who come to Agnes come strictly for academic and professional reasons. When there is a big game, such as Agnes versus Spellman (rival women's team), the campus will come together to show its support and love for fellow Scotties.
Getting Tickets
Getting a ticket for a sporting event at Agnes is one of the easiest things you can do on campus. Tickets are sold pre-game and at the box office, and the wait for tickets is little to no time at all. If there's a home game, Scotties get in free, while guests can get tickets for as low as $5.
Best Place to Take a Walk
At Agnes, there is an endless possibility of places to walk and roam. Students often walk around the city of Decatur or even take MARTA, so they may stroll Piedmont Park or just enjoy walking the streets of Atlanta. Gellerstedt Track and Field is often open, and students access the field when it is not in team use. One of the most popular options is to just walk around campus. Students, as well as many from the surrounding community, jog or walk dogs around the quad. It also helps that Agnes is one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, so if you're in need of some soothing, Agnes's well-kept grounds are sure to feed your need for the aesthetic.
