Agnes's nightlife and party scene isn't exactly all that existent. Decatur doesn't have a party scene, but it does have wonderful restaurant and bar life. Decatur is a fairly quiet place that is in close proximity to Atlanta, so there are some clubbing options, if that's what you like to do. Most women at Agnes prefer restaurant and bar hopping to clubbing. The bars in the Decatur area are within walking distance to the school, but are a bit pricey, depending on where you go. Twain's, for example, isn't too affordable for college students, but Taco Mac is the cheapest place to get a drink and tapas. Trackside Tavern is also a cheap place to get a drink and a typical haunt for Agnes students. Trackside is a two-minute walk from the school, a seedy hole-in-the-wall that offers drinks, billiards, darts, and a sports bar. It's popular with Agnes students because of its price and atmosphere.
There are a lot of events on campus that happen year-round. Each Friday, Programming Board holds an event called "TGIF" where upperclasswomen are served drinks, and lowerclasswomen are able to party and socialize. Decatur is a great place for both people of drinking age as well as underage people. Underage people like to go into Decatur and walk around the shops and hang out at the local restaurants and cafés. Starbucks, Java Monkey, and Yogurt Tap are popular haunts for underage students. These places offer a fun, chill atmosphere that welcomes families, students, and intellectuals. Decatur has a little bit of everything for everyone.
