Parking on campus is plentiful, even though it's not always particularly close to your on-campus destination. Granted, Agnes is a small school, so there's really no problem in parking a building away from where you're supposed to be. Plus, more than half the people who attend Agnes live on campus, so parking isn't always such an issue. If you live on campus and have a car, you have two options for parking permits. You can pay per semester, which is approximately $60 per semester, or you can pay per year, which is $100. Most people with cars pay the $100 per year because this parking allows you to park on campus during holidays as well as in the summer, so it's better bang for your buck!
Public Safety enforces parking. It is almost guaranteed you will receive a parking ticket if you are an Agnes student and you park in a visitor or reserved space. It's best if you read through the parking brochure in order to see the places where you are allowed to park. There isn't a lot of parking in Decatur, and most of the parking that is available is metered. So, if you would like to go off campus into Decatur, it would be best if you were to keep your car on campus and walk. Some students park their cars in a church lot on Church Street; however, there have been incidents where people from the church have had Decatur police write tickets for cars parked for a prolonged period of time.
