Tuition & Financial Aid:
Need Money? Aims Community College offers a lot of very good classes for very good money. You can get a variety of classes at this institution. They have everything from the pre requisits to the college level (and credited) classes. The tutition is half that of a university and I feel you still receive a quality education.
The financial office is very informative...in person. As you can imagine with all the rules, laws, and red tape it is hard to get all the questions you have answered over the phone, but if you are willing to spend maybe a few much needed minutes in line you will have no issues at this college.
When it comes to financial aid the best thing you can do is be dilligent in your search for it. Make sure that you are filling out your FASFA in plenty, if not more, time. Make sure that you are checking the website for scholarship opportunities, and even outside of the college! You never know what's out there!

My school has a wide variety of student that range from just out of high school to those who are almost ready to retire and very diverse in ethnicity. Most of the students I have met are very friendly and are interested in study groups and helping each other. Most are very serious about their studies and education.

The Director Is Great – The CTI Program director is fantastic - he's an honest and good man. Unfortunately he is not a trained teacher and very few of his staff are. What they lack in professionalism, he makes up for in person ability.

The Collegiate Training Initiative program (FAA) at Aims is a joke. I hope that there are more critical tests and exams in my future to earn the FAA employment that I seek. Because if there are not, I don't want to end up working side by side with some of the worst students and lackluster people I've ever met. I hope these types are weeded out soon, because at the moment this program is so easy a monkey could do it.

I can't speak to the student body as a whole. As an aviation student we are isolated with each other and see only each other throughout the day. There is maybe 5% non-rich-white-kids in the program.

Academic Experience – I'm coming for a very specific degree program and this particular school delivers the courses I need in a very convienent, fast-track program and therefore I would chose the program all over again in a second. But not all teachers are on the top of their game, and grading is inconsistent. If the teachers are sharp in their field, they tend to be poor at teaching and vice versa.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
With the exception of a few individuals, Financial Aid counselors do not return emails, have a rude demeanor, and you have to wait in line upwards of an hour to hear that you have to come back over and over again. Very disorganized.

Fire Science Computer Suck – The computers in some of the buildings suck. However, the main computer lab is an awesome place to get homework done. The campus is easy to get around, but parking is often difficult to find near the campus.

Community Collegeitus – I feel like the teachers are not well prepared for the class that they are teaching. Some of the teachers act like they enjoy being there, while other teachers could care less. It is a toss up between good and bad teachers. Overall, the class sizes are great and the tuition is afforable.

They Focus on Each Student. I love my school. Our classes are small and we each get an opportunity to get to know our teachers and learn on a one by one basis. We get the opportunities such as one on one tutuoring and there are workshops all throughout the year for students needing help with Writing. The campus is united and dedicated to reaching each student. We have a school news letter that is posted in every bathroom stall, so not one person misses it. Different organizations around school create workshops, presentations, and discusions that can teach, inform, and involve every kind of student. Our school is full of diversity, we ge tthe chance to interact with people of every race, ethnicity, age, generation, and level of intellect.

My Enrollment Process – I am a 48 yr. old male. I have never been to college before. I had a wonderful career in high end retail management. I had a rare disease that caused me to go on disabilty for the past three yrs.after several operations, I now feel good enough to find and start a new career. as you may have guessed, I was very nervous about the college enrollment process. As I entered Aims community college, there was a young gentleman by the name of Eric. He had a very friendly personality. He made me feel very comfortable, and at ease. I had gone to aims to ask questions, but the process was so easy and so relaxed. I was registered for college in an hours time. I was given a study sheet for the placement test to take home. The next day as i entered the building, Eric met me at the door. I was very nervous. as to my surprise I did very well on the test. I do believe with out the ease and comfort I felt at aims, I would not have done as well as I did on the test. I am so happy with my desicion to enroll at Aims. I will never look back, Thank you Aims, Darold Liestman

The computer lab is open a majority of the time all you need is your username and password. There is no limit on the amount of time you are on the computer. It is very easy to print the things you need for a VERY low price. Also, the school gives you five dollars on your card to start with!

Aims Community College stands out because it is very involved with everything from helping with supplies to educating suicidal prevention and more. They also have great tutoring opportunities and the teachers make it very easy to go to them for help.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
