Technologically. . .Top Notch! Computers and computer access at Alabama A&M University is very good. The College of Agricultural, Life and Natural Sciences stays ahead of the game in equipment and software. There are at least five computer labs in our college alone and within each department, there computers to use and/or individuals that can assist you with technological needs. Our campus has access to wireless networking and it is most advantageous for the average student to have his/her own computer and printer. In fact, our financial aid office provides reimbursement for those students that purchase computer systems during the school year as long as he/she does not exceed their financial aid budget.

Difficult but Hope to Be Rewarding – Currently, I find it very difficult as I have just completed my written and oral examinations. Next on my schedule is the writing and presentation (defense) of my dissertation. The curriculum has been difficult at best as I was a nutrition major and it has proven that moving from nutrition, there are many subjects and basics we were not exposed to so one has to do make up coursework just to get on an even level with my other classmates. We do; however, have some of the better facilities on campus so I cannot complain. Internships are difficult for a doctoral student but I am constantly being told that I will be a unique commodity in the job market . . .being a black female with a doctorate degree in food science. That is yet to be seen. I hope they are right! Though there are instructors that are not on my advising committee, they have been my moral support and have given me advice (good and bad) in order for me to stay heading toward my goal.

The weather on campus doesnt effect the experience at all especially when your taking the bus to get to most of your classes, sometimes your are just undecided what to wear because you dont know if it is going to be hot or cold.

Off Campus Area – The off campus housing selection, I am not too familiar with it because I havent been off campus too much and when I have I may have not realized the housing but as from what I hear it is not pretty bad at all, although their are many pro's and con's to living off campus like your own privacy in and out of your room and your own space and a getaway from people at times, the con's may be transportation, gas, food, lonely and it cost more.

Health & Safety:
Safety and Security at My University – The safety is good, the area is clean always and where I stay it is a well kept area and everyone around is friendly and security on campus is at an all time high, knowing that the security can not be every where at once they always happen to get there when something goes wrong or when needed. They do there job and that is good because some security at other places may slack, but the security here is great and they are active and they are cool and friendly, they make you feel safe to be staying on this campus while your attending this university.

Alabama A & M is an HBCU, although I am white I love coming here. I feel very welcomed and the students here are very friendly to me. I could't see myself attending anywhere else.

Finacial Aid – Because of the University being decieved finacial aid is often hard to comply with. School for us has started and we have been in session since August 19,2011 and it still is not finalized. They say that we will not recieve refunds until the first week of September when students need money to buy books now.

Pep Squad – Here at alabama A&M the pep squad is the pre-game entertainment. This includes: basketball, football, and volleyball. They are here to liven up the audience and do positive things so that ouer team can win. It really plays a role in the whole school spirit experience.

Students That Stay Off Campus – It would be cool if the School buses came to the Off campus apts. Like maybe once every 2 hours or after 6 becuase thats when the public buses stop running.

In Alabama, the weather is pretty unpredictable. It can be raining and very hot and sunny all at the same time. Its hard to get tornado season as well. In my area we have plenty of evacuations on tornado watch.

There are a lot of new parking lots built in for commuters and those who live on campus. When the parking lots get packed students try to park on the grass and then they will be ticketed by the time they get out of class. I have seen many cars get towed on campus for parking in the wrong space if it is reserved.

The Durg Scene – The drug scene at my school is low. Most students are afaid to try anything other than alcohol. If students are experimenting, it is usually with marijuana.

Being a Politicl Sience Major – I love being a political science major at Alabama A and M. My department is behavioral science and they are awesome. They help you in most ways possible. Im also in all the clubs they have to offer. Being in there department is like a home away from home. Classes aren't that bad because we get into study groups and the teachers are very helpful. They also help you find money for school and plan trips to help prepare you for your future.

Life in Huntsville Alabama – Huntsville is a very pretty place. there are a lot of museums and a space center in the local area. For boys there is a skate park and for girls there are 3 malls. Which ever you prefer. The night life is not all that great down here. there is only a few clubs where you can really dress to impress. There are a lot that some high schoolers still go to. Everything closes around 1 a.m.. Overall its a nice place to come and enjoy your self with the ones you are close to. There are also many great job opening and internships all the time in huntsville.

Sweet South – The weather around AAMU is usually pleasant. Because the campus is high on a hill breeze's can catch students as they are walking about and refresh them.

Quad Fun – Though I am not a Greek member during Greek week all of the houses come onto the quad for a week of information and fun. I enjoy watching the spectacle and comradeship.

Alabama a&M a Learning Experience – Alabama A&M is a HBCU set inside the Huntsville City limits. A beautiful campus with a rich history first greets the new comer. The staff are adequate in their teaching ability with some "rare gems" that excel in their field and make education considerably more enjoyable. The overall atmosphere of the school is relaxed and inviting.

Bulldog Cars – Parking is a little limited on campus. There is usually no where to park without getting towed.
College Senior 2011-07-19T23:11:31Z
The "HILL" at Night – The clubs that have the most fun are usually for those 19 and up. There aren't really much to do on campus, but college students can go to many different clubs.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
