The only dining area on campus, other than the cafeteria, is a restaurant called "Greasy Spoon." This restaurant is a fast food place, but the food is very good and you get a lot of food. Greasy Spoon serves chicken strips, burgers, salads, chili dogs, hot dogs, and a few other tasty dishes. The cafeteria is the only source of free food. The food is good for about the first month of the academic year, but after that, you'll see the meals get repetitive and unappealing. A typical breakfast consists of bacon or sausage, eggs, grits, hash browns, oatmeal, dry cereal, unripe fruit, biscuits, juice, milk, coffee, and water. Lunch consists of sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs and hamburgers, some type of meat with rice and vegetables, and a salad bar. Dinner is pretty similar to lunch. There might be a different meat, but it's still served with the same rice and vegetables from dinner.
The cafeteria is not open 24 hours like other universities. If you happen to miss a meal, then you can either pick up some fast food or go to bed hungry. On the weekends, the cafeteria closes early. The best meals served in the café are the turkey sandwiches, chili bowls, chicken tenders with French fries, ham and cheese bagels, grits and biscuits, potato soup, tacos, beans and rice, and bacon pizza.
