They student body is very great. Everyone has alot of energy and each person is very well rounded. You meet some very great people who love to be around just about everyday. I have met some wonderful people, whom I will miss when I graduate.

The facilities on campus are great. They are well organized and you can get a very well understanding of many things on campus. Everyone there is so friendly and are welling to help you with anything you may have a problem with, or even just a little question about.

The resources put in place on campus are great. The athletic center is one I am unfamiliar with; I don't know if I could walk in with my own basketball and play if I wanted to so I am unaware of that. Student Support Services is wonderful for both the student that needs help and the student tutor; it provides students with other students as tutors who in the process get paid which is rewarding for the student who worked hard in a class to be recommended by the professor to be a tutor. Because Alabama Southern Community College is located in the literary capital of Alabama, the library is well-kept and the librarians are extremely helpful and very nice; every year in Spring, there is the Writer's Symposium which is awesome from young aspiring writers to hear some of the best authors come talk and share their work. Another great thing about ASCC are the clubs. There are many clubs to join and it's a great way to meet people who have the same interests as yourself which is why I am in the Honor's Program, Phi Theta Kappa, and Travel Club.

The only convenience I've had at this school is how close it is to my family which is the only reason I chose to live here, with them, and go to this school. I no longer had the grueling responsibility of working full time while paying rent living in the suburbs of Atlanta and trying to manage taking a full load of classes at the same time. It has been easy transferring credits however, some teachers which are the advisers, are unaware of transfer credits especially if they do not have the same name. I took pre-calculus my first semester there because from what my adviser told me, I needed it. Come to find out, my college algebra class I had taken in Georgia had transferred in as pre-calculus at this college and the week before finals and after going to that class every Monday night for three hours, it had been all for nothing; I already had credit for that class which I'm sure now that's why my teacher would continuously call me a genius and wave my four tests in everyones face which were all 100's. The administration was very nice. They compensated me for my losses but unfortunately, I had finished that semester with only six hours and not nine.
For the most part though, my experience has been convenient.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I've been to three community colleges and I briefly attended the University of Alabama. I am not at all familiar with the financial aid process but in regards to the school's tuition at ASCC, it is too high for the education students are paying for. Since attending this school for three semesters I've been in classes with many different teachers, even teachers they bring in from the pathetic public and private school system in this area; they teach some of the classes! Thus, I was paying for a high school teacher to teach my college course. Out of the entirety of the faculty, there are three teachers I feel that are worth being there and the one's that were really worth being there were "let go" because of the politics within this small town and small school. The excuse of our president was based on money which I believe is true. However, why couldn't the president get rid of two lousy teachers and keep the outstanding one?

Awsome Kathryn Tucker Windham library, beautifully landscaped, great campus activites considering that the school is located in a small town. The college really tries hard to keep activities for the students.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Alabama Southern is one of the very TOP 2 year schools in Alabama. It was listed in a National Magazine as being a top community college in the nation. (Sorry, don't remember the magazine's name). It was listed in maybe 2009 or 2010

Counselors are talking with students and encouraging them to move forward in their plans for after graduation instead of waiting. There are job workshops as well.

The main reason i chose this school is because its convenient as far as the distance is concerned. Also because I am a single parent of two small children.

I chose this school because it was close to home. Now it is time for me to open up arms and fly. I want to leave so I can be independent.

ASCC Very Diverse – Alabama Southern is a very diverse school. Our school consist of students who just graduated from high school, adults, and senior citizens. Everyone who attends ASCC either have a job or a family or both.

Team Eagles – Alabama Southern is a good community college. I am glad I chose to attend a community college before going to a four year college. I truly believe ASCC has prepared. ASCC is also an open minded college and try to make the students feel comfortable. The teachers are amazing and really try their best to help the students. All in all I enjoy my experience with ASCC.

The student body is average for a community college. I didnt have any problems or challenges with interacting with other students. I've never experienced any problems with diversity. Everyone seemed to interact well with each other.

The computer labs are great. They are roomy and there are enouogh for everybody. However, the network reliability was somethimes unreliable. I had days I needed assignments done but was held back, throwing me off schedule. It has improved but still needs work. The printing there is free which is great.

Small College Sets Larger Than Life Goals – My school has small classes where the teachers, staff, & students know me by name. They are genuinely concerned about each student's success & well-being. The small classes allow hands on learning that is not only fun, but interesting!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
