It's relatively a good process. You simply submit a form showing your interest and it will be processed. You receive updates via your school online account or you will receive a letter as well in a short amount of time. The earlier you submit, the better with speed and getting you prepped and talking with an advisor!

I like my program a lot. I would definitely consider doing it all over again. Being a history major can be a very ambiguous yet opportunistic field. It could take you into teaching, law school or whatever you may be looking for. I when I become a graduate student will be pursuing journalism. Being a history major has equipped me with the proper critical thinking, observational skills, articulation, and writing skills neccesary to prepare me for my choice.

I have not had an internships thus far however I do plan to in the future. I feel it will give me hands on experience in my field and prepare as well as ensure me if that's what I really want to do in life. One concern about finding an intern is the amount of companys or people willing to accept and the personal willingness and amount of space available. Internships can be very helpful for experience, self promotion and future goals.

Being a History major at Alabama State is a very consistent, adequate, and direct program. The professors provide you with detailed and concise lectures and allow opinions and aspects of history to be observed and studied by students. Class sizes inside the program are considerable most of the time allowing a more open yet personal atmosphere. The use of images, PowerPoint, smartboard, and other educational technology is common and helpful. The classes are usually very interactive and the professors are very willing to allow questions, observations and opinions and will ackowledge and reply to you quite commonly. Asu has a great History Program!

Parking is extremely limited! The tickets and fines make it even worse. It is very important that they resolve the parking issue.

I am currently completing a summer internship and I think it has be very helpful. I am not being payed, however I feel as though the long term rewards will be worth it. So far I have performed ever duty in my facility and it is preparing me for any entry level position upon graduation.

Our new Student center, library, and athletic center are great additions to the campus! If only we could get a decent building for the students to workout in.

Most of the professors I have encountered the past semesters were great! Helpful and available when called upon.

The process of getting into a college dorm is the worst, and besides them not always being able to have availability to the dorms on campus. The Campus Housing is becoming better!

If you don't have a car there are not many off campus dining areas that you can choose from that are in walking distance. There is a Burger King, Sonic, Hungry Howie's and a Subway. If you do have a car there are other dining options not too far from the school, just not in walking distance, including a Wendy's, McDonald's, Zaxby's, Taco Bell and more.

I don't know much about the Greek life when it comes to community service, not saying that they don't participate in it, i just don't know. I do know that they throw parties often that are very fun and inviting to the other students.

Guys & Girls:
There are a variety of different guys and girls on this campus. They all have different interests. Some come from small towns, big cities or even other countries. I would say it's very versatile.

Athletics are excellent depending on what team we are discussing. Golf and track dominated this year. Alabama state has built a new football stadium and hopefully it will be a good use of money.

I have never ate in the dinning hall but I'm told that the food is mediocre. If you want something descent you can go the the student union and eat at the "food court".

There are a handful of clubs that one can attend. Some of the clubs provide shuttle service. I'm told about this one bar that is hot for the college crowed. It's not a big city so don't expect much to do. If you don't party there is really nothing to do but hang out with some friends.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
