It Kept Me Alive – The food was not the best when I could afford to stay on campus, but it kept me alive. The options are better now that we have Einstein Bros. and Chick-fil-a

Better Than Most – I had the worst experience with the financial aid process at the first university I attended. When I transferred to Albany State, it was a breath of fresh air. My financial aid advisor did exactly that, advised my parents and I on the best possible way for me to be able to pay for school without taking out extensive loans. However, some rules changed and I got a new financial aid advisor the next year. With my new advisor, my experience has been like that of my previous attended university. However, because I had such a great first advisor, I understand the process, know when I'm supposed to complete my FAFSA and know what to apply for so I won't have to take out extensive loans. Because of that, I will say my financial aid experience has been great.

Albany State is better than most. It was my second choice when I could no longer attend my first choice university. I did not want to attend Albany State but my parents didn't give me a choice. Since being here, I have gotten involved with activities and organizations around campus which caused me to enjoy my stay here more than before. If I could do it all over, I would choose Albany State again because even with it's many faults, some of the faculty and staff I have come to know have helped and encouraged me as if I were there own child. However, I would not recommend this school to someone who is used to the city or suburban lifestyle considering Albany State is in the country and I would not recommend this school to someone who is used to being in an environment where the standard of excellence is met every time.

The facilities at Albany State have gotten better. The gym is decent, however, a majority of the equipment needs to be fixed and the administration could use some help. A new student center along with two new dorms were just completed and opened in August 2011. The new students center is very convenient and much better than the old student union. It has more options for fast food, looks extremely welcoming, and has areas where students and guests can either play games or just sit and enjoy themselves (the old student center didn't have the previous listed). The two new dorms consist of a mini-theater, campus store, fast food restaurant, and dance studio. However, the location of the dorms is in a location that inconveniences the students, thus not allowing the students to be able to enjoy these amenities.

Health & Safety:
Safe & Secure – Albany State University has a great campus police service. They do a great job at keeping crime down on the campus despite the fact that the campus is open. It is a lovely and safe campus to stay on, and I enjoy my time on campus. Things are always safe and under control.
College Junior 2011-12-10T18:03:59Z
basically, if you park some where you are not suppose to park you get a 25 dollar fine on your account and your car get booted. And honestly you seriously need a car on campus to get around.

Health & Safety:
Safety on Campus – It is important to have as much as safety on albany state campus. But sad to say there is not much safety on our campus, I mean we have had locals to come on our campus shootingothers, gang violance, and having to deal with many thefts on campus. So there really is not a lot of security safety on our campus. If i could graduate in a hurry a will to pretect many campuses around the world.

Stay on top of you financial aid. No one is going to baby you to stay on top of your money for school. Scholarships and grants are out there you have to go get them. I was a thousand dollars shorts but my two scholarships i received at graduation helped me out.

My best experiences here at Albany State would have to include the meeting of new people on campus, the live talent shows and homecoming events. I also appreciate the positive teachers that i have.

Student Life and Affairs – On campus is a multiple things to keep students busy and out of trouble. The new students center which holds a huge lounging area a game room for arcade gaming pool table tennis and video games, and a select sit down restaurants. The library which holds multiple computer labs and references is a great study spot. The sports facility is equipped with a weight room swimming pool and a court with multiple goals for people to run games on.

Guys & Girls:
Student Life – The students on campus are all socially active. Most involved in sports or organizations that better the student life at Albany State University. Its not really a fashion show here. Most students dress comfortable and to the weather for that day. Most people don't really hang with other students not from their city or where they are native to.

I came to Albany State University with one thing in mind, not only to get a better education but to also graduate with a Major I see potential in. My major is Supply Chain Logistics which Albany does have, with a military Logistics base located down the street for internship. The campus is always live with professors and alumni willing to help make a difference in the students lives. Every Sunday,Monday and Wednesday study tables are offered with tutors and professors that offer help in subjects students are troubled with.

I feel the Library is unoragnized. The Books are not easy to find.

The dorms is a good choice when determining to stay on campus or off campus. Its much cheaper and makes getting around easier. The housing process has became easier over the years and makes it easier for students to get a room. The new dorms was a great achievement which allowed more room although the older dorms really are not that appealing. The atmosphere is good and the resident assistance are a great help. Living on campus is a wise decision.

A recently built student center is a very good place. Everyone is able to interact with friends and also quiet place where people can study. Its convenient to have many different sections in there such as the bookstore, the post office and a restaurant. The library have an average number of computers and a great place to study. The overall campus is a great experience with exceptional students and staffs.

Health & Safety:
Health & Safety – The security on campus is good although it is an open campus. Police arrive in a timely manner and settle many different disputes in an orderly manner.

Drug Binge – Students are more likely to have a drinking problem on campus than a drug problem, even though there are some who come on campus just to get a high feeling.
College Senior 2011-09-23T17:55:11Z
alcohol is relatively easy to get and it is permitted on 2 of the 4 quads on campus. There isn't a lot of peer pressure, but the enforcement policies are pretty strict

there are few recognized frats and sororities. Most of the frats or sororities are underground.
