Health & Safety:
I have never felt unsafe while at albertus magnus. Albertus provides its students with around the clock security who parole in vehicles and on foot. Most entry ways to halls have a gated entry.

The athetletics at albertus are important but are not advertised enough to obtain a larger fan base.

Theres not a lot to do but everyone is really friendly which makes it easier to have doing pretty much anything.

Usually Always Available – Since there's not a lot of people on campus there are usually always computers available.
College Senior 2012-08-16T03:17:38Z
Food Stinks – The food really stinks and what stinks more is that it is mandatory for people to pay for the meal plan if they live on campus.
College Senior 2012-08-16T03:15:12Z
Shuttle Bus – There is a bus provided from Yale but it isn't really reliable and there's nothing really around in walking distance so if u can't get the bus which happens a lot then you're not going anywhere unless you have a car.

Pretty Good – It does snow sometimes which sucks because the school doesn't do a good job cleaning up the snow otherwise it's pretty good except for when it's hot out then things become pretty uncomfortable for people that live in the dorms.

If we didn't have Yale nearby, there wouldn't be transportation.

Little Punishments – I heard about a fight that broke out between two students and neither of them got in trouble. It upset me that something like that could happen at such a college level and no consequences took place. I want to feel safe and secure, I do not want to be around fighting where people think it is okay.

From what I have heard, they have fire alarms way too early in the morning which is an inconvience if students are trying to sleep before classes. What has prevented me from housing is the cost. I'm already strugging to pay the tuition now, so housing is too expensive for me.

At Albertus, we get it all. Snow, rain, and my favorite, sunshine. I prefer to walk around campus in the warm, sunny weather; however, I have yet to experience a severe snowstorm here.

Lots of School Spirit – Everyone seems to be very involved and dedicated in school sports, whether you're an onlooking fan or a hardworking athlete. The home games are usually packed and the atmosphere is very welcoming and diverse.

Printers Not Working/Too Crowded – There is one computer lab in each of the 2 buildings and they get crowded quickly with people not doing serious work as well as getting filled in with actual classes. I've experienced several negative experiences with the printers, whether they have run out of ink or they do not print out my assignment.

Seeing as Albertus is a very small college there is always a lot of parking, no matter what timie of day it is. And whatever spot you find you'll always get to class on time. Parking is very close to the academic buildings. However, the library parking is pretty bad and there aren't enough spots for the dorm parking.
College Junior 2012-07-05T14:13:14Z
Very Diverse – Albertus is located in New Haven which is a very diverse city in Connecticut. We have a lot of diversity in this school. I believe there are more Aican Americans than White students who attend.

Well Maintained – The Albertus Magnus College campus is very welcoming. It is not crowded, thre's always plenty of parking. Faculty here tries to make the campus as comfortable as possible. The cafeteria isn't the greatest and the prices at the bookstore for our college apparel is a little outrageous. Everyone is accepted and teachers are very dependable and easy to approach. However the school is very small, and to live on campus isn't very exciting.

New Haven Transit – The New Haven bus company allows students to travel around new haven for free.

Downtown New Haven – Nightlife is great for students 21 years and old but is also good for 18 year olds as well. There are clubs and activities around the center of New Haven for everyone to participate in on a daily basis.

The freshman dorms at Albertus Magnus College are great to live in because you have four options of housing and some are all girl dorms, which allows comfort for some people.

Criminal Justice – The Criminal Justice professors care about their students and what they are doing. They help us whenever we need it, and they are passionate about what they do. Many of them have had previous or cocurrent jobs as lawyers, cops, etc.

Campus Aesthetics – The campus is beautiful and well maintained. Most of the buildings are mansions, making the campus even more mesmorizing. It is just a beautiful place to live and go to school.

Public transportation is great around Albertus Magnus. You get all access (for free) on the Yale Shuttle bus. Also, Albertus isn't even 10 minutes away from Downtown New Haven; it's so close you can walk there.

You would never have an issue with the computer labs or library access at Albertus. There are about 500 students that attend the school and there are about 10-15 labs; most students have laptops. Printing on campus is totally FREE of cost. Also, wireless access is FREE all over campus!!

This school is awesome! It's a small school and the atmosphere is great. Everyone knows eachother (faculty also). The student-faculty ratio is 13:1. The professor's here are also great. They care whether or not you're doing you're work. Not like huge Universities, Albertus is a great place to learn. We also have a great environment where we can play games and possibly win some extra cash. Some nights we have Bingo Nite, Trivia Nite, or even Game Nite(where you have the chance to play the Wii, XBOX 360, or PS3. You should definately come to check the school out.

Fair and Sensible – As the school is of Dominican Catholic background there is an emphasis on the honor code in regards to academic honesty and cheating. As a commuter it is difficult to evaluate the strictness in the dorms; however there are wet and dry dorms. If you're in a dry dorm I suggest you keep it that way.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
