There are some decent options that are open late. Mainly the Subway and a sweet Casquerellies, and technically although on campus there is the Eat Shop. all these places take your Albion 1 card, which is your I.D. A bit general, but has all the food you could want. If you have a car or a friend with one, there are also a ton or restaurants that take the card as well in Jackson and Marshall. Also, free movie tickets at the Marshal Theatre!!!!

The town is small, but is integrated into the college. For this reason, we have wonderful places to just be casual at, whether it's the Subway or other restaurants, the nature center or park, or the gym and pool center. It really makes it feel like I'm living in a town, and not always my dorm. It's also cool because students can actually live in apartments right next to people from town, making it a more realistic living condition, even if you are in the dorms.

Being a major at my school is fun!!! We have a wide range of people who have no clue what they want to do to people who know exactly what they want to do. Why would this be good? Because it offers different perspective. If someone doesn't know what they want to do, their brain is probably used on other things more often, which means more is brought to the table. Also, I can't name a class where there wasn't a comm major in it. It's like we try to dabble in everything. Honestly, we are the Liberal Arts in the Liberal Arts College. We may not be the best at everything, but we sure know how to learn a bit of everything.

I came to Albion just deciding to not pursue the double major I was going to and instead go in undecided. It's liberal arts program has introduced me to some very interesting topics. Even though all the modes and categories seem tough, I have finished them all within my first 2 years and only have parts of my major to go. Although I don't know what I want to do as a job yet, I feel safe that Albion will help me figure it out. Some of the classes outside my major have given my knowledge and critical thinking skills that just make me a smarter person, and have led me in the right directions, such as my major, and trying new interests. On top of that, I must say that almost every single professor has know me so well that we have conversations regularly outside of class, and I feel quite comfortable working hard while feeling a little more at ease to be informal. The work is difficult, but the social aspect is fun, which makes the times at Albion fly while being worthwhile.

There are a few places to eat off-campus in Albion. There are two Subways, a Bigby, a bar called Charlie's, a Mexican restaurant called La Casa, two Italian restaurants called Cascarelli's and Gina's, a McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Hungry Howie's, a KFC , an Arby's and a good breakfast place called Full Moon. The cool thing is that many of these places take Briton Bucks which is money that can be put on your Albion1Card.
If you want something else there is the town of Marshall 10 minutes to the West and the town of Jackson 15 minutes to the East.

Nightlife from Wednesday to Saturday night is very popular at Albion. Unless there is a party at an off-campus house or the Annex, the parties are always at the frats. Every weekend there is something going on. I feel whether you drink or not, you always have fun.

Living in Wesley Hall was the best because you live with your graduating class for a whole year, creating great friendships. You can always walk into the first floor lounge and talk to people you know. During the first few weeks many people keep their door open so you can get to know each other. There was never a time I walked down a hall and didn't say hey to someone. You get to know basically all the freshman. Every month you participate in hall/floor events to get to know each other. As for upperclassmen housing, as you grow older there are more places you can live. All the housing is within minutes of classes.

The Professors are awesome, always working to help you do the best you can. If you put in the time, so will they. The classes are small around 10-25 usually.

Being international myself, I feel Albion is very diverse. There are quite a few different countries represented at Albion and there are groups and organizations for every ethnicity and religion. These groups and organizations are not only for people in these groups, but also for anyone who wants to learn more about the culture or religion. The cultural groups host events every month.

Guys & Girls:
The people you meet at Albion are great. Although it is a small school, if you go out and get involved you will find people with similar interests.

If you are on board there is one place to go where you can eat unlimited food everyday- Baldwin Dining Hall. I'm not picky when it comes to eating and I'm open to trying new things so I found something to eat everyday. There is a salad and sandwich bar, dessert bar, global food bar, cereal bar, comfort food bar and the daily specials bar. If there is something you'd like the chefs will make it for you. There is even a vegan, vegetarian bar. The food is pretty healthy. Baldwin is open from 7 am to 8 pm. Currently over this summer, Baldwin hall is being completely renovated with the most modern looking styles. If you are looking for more of a burger, fries kind of place go to the Eat Shop (2nd level KC). This is not included on our board plan, but the prices are reasonable and you are given &25 Briton Bucks a semester to use at either the Eat Shop or Between the Grinds the coffee shop in the library. The Eat Shop is open until midnight and MTG is open until 11pm.

Being an athlete myself, I would say Sprankel-Sprandle Stadium is the nicest in the MIAA. On top of that there are 3 full soccer fields, a full eight lane track,a baseball diamond and softball diamond. There is an indoor tennis centre and I believe four outdoor tennis courts. The Dow has a four lane track and three divisible multi-sport courts. The Dow also has two squash courts, a medium sized weight room, pool and the cardio fishbowl. The fishbowl has many treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and steppers. Being on the K-Zoo river Albion has kayaks and canoes available to students. Albion is also nationally known for their equestrian program. There is a full stable and riding centre just a mile north of the school. Albion is also privileged with a great Athletic Training program and centre where you can go in for PT or injuries. When it comes to school spirit I would say there is a great portion of the student body who will go to the sports games. If you are not into intercollegiate sports, there are also IM sports that run throughout the year ranging from flag football to wally-ball. Many of the intercollegiate sport teams are rebuilding, headed with great coaches. GO BRITS!

It's Michigan. It's cold in the winter and warm in the summer. Oh, and just perfect in the fall and spring.

There are many computers in the library, there is always one available. However, majority of students have their own computer. There are computer labs in many of the dorms, as well as computer labs around campus. The school computers are never down, but there are the occasional times when the wifi will be knocked out on devices or laptops. I wouldn't say the speed is too slow. As for printing, every semester of attendance Albion gives you, I believe, $15 of printing credits which is more than enough. I have never heard of anyone needed to add money to their printing credit account. It costs 5 cents to print and the printers will print double sided and in colour as well. As for a printer, they are not needed at Albion. There are enough computer labs that having your own printer is a waste.

You are told what lot you are allowed to park in when you get your permit sticker. It is the closest lot to your dorm. The cost isn't too bad. As a freshman, parking is not the greatest because the parking lot beside Wesley Hall (the freshman dorm) fills up quickly. There is the church parking lot which you are also allowed to park in as a freshman but that is just around the block - not far at all. Once you aren't a freshman there are no problems. Don't try to be sneaky when parking. Campus safety will ticket you if you don't park in the correct lot.

Health & Safety:
I would say Albion is a pretty safe place. Yes, there are the occasional situations, but they are always taken care of by campus safety. Campus safety is also willing to drive you anywhere around campus from dusk to dawn.

I rushed this past semester and it was truly the greatest decision. You meet so many new people and friends. Best way to get involved around campus!
College Sophomore 2013-05-29T23:37:41Z
The freshman dorm at Albion College is great, everyone is in the same building so it's extremely convenient, the upperclassman dorms are nice too, a bit retro but always clean and comfortable.

Guys & Girls:
The diversity of people on campus is great, not entirely in ethnicity, but in mindsets and personalities. You can meet people who came some small town and are complete rednecks, to others who are city smart people and have traveled greatly. The intellect on campus also varies, from people who received full scholarships for their grades to people who are paying ever, last, cent. Some people have even turned down the Ivy Legues such as Harvad or Dartmouth. You can really meet anyone.

The best thing on campus is to go Greek. Really nothing else to do.

Amazing to be on campus in the warm weather, and not bad in the cold weather.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
