Academics at Albion are a large part of why the retention rate is 84 percent. Though it may seem frustrating at times to have to take classes outside of your major to complete the liberal arts education, you’ll appreciate it looking back. Sometimes, even if you really don’t like the subject of a class you’re taking, the professor can make you care and want to do well. Of course, sometimes the opposite happens, but professors at Albion are often the best part. On a small campus and with such small class sizes, it is easy to get to know the faculty on a personal level. Most of them are incredibly approachable and will often go to extremes to make sure you’re getting the best out of your education at Albion.
Another great part about Albion academics is your adviser. Advisers at Albion are all professors and typically aid students who are majoring in their department. If you are given an adviser you don’t like, Albion makes it easy for you to switch. It’s all about making sure you’re comfortable with the important decisions you’re making and the education you’re gaining while at the College.

The teachers are actually one of my favorite parts about Albion. They are always willing to spend extra time with students and meet outside of class whenever needed. Most of them are extremely enthusiastic about what they are teaching, which makes attending class much more fun. |

Some believe that teachers are difficult at Albion while I’d say much to the opposite. A great deal of professors make you work, and if you do, you’ll be better off in the long run. However, some professors are also known for being notoriously easy. While their courses may be a breeze, you’ll get nothing out of them. |

I love the professors at Albion. I really don’t think that I’ve had a bad professor here. They’re always willing to meet with you if you need help or to read over a paper before you turn it in. They’re great teachers as well as active scholars in their fields. |

The professors are one of my favorite things about Albion. They are, for the most part, very nice individuals willing to lend a helping hand whenever they can. The best professors are those who are excited about what they teach and can spread that excitement to their students. Also, professors are often very accessible and easy to talk to. |

The professors are great at what they do. Some of them are a little bizarre, but that’s what comes with getting your PhD. The professors are always enthusiastic and interested in what students are doing, and they are willing to talk with students. Most of them communicate to students through e-mail, and it’s the major way for students to contact professors. |
