Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The policies on alcohol and drugs keep getting stricter, and they will most likely continue to do so until Albion ultimately becomes a dry campus. It has been rumored that this has been the administration’s goal for a while now. Albion used to be quite the party school 20–30 years ago, but then they started cracking down. Now, students are fined $250–$500 for alcohol violations, and can immediately be kicked off campus for drugs. However, the College likes to handle things within and rarely brings in Albion Public Safety, the town’s police department.

Unless you are really flaunting the fact that you’re violating the College’s policies, you most likely won’t get caught. Campus Safety officers are lenient with students who aren’t causing trouble or endangering themselves or other students. As long as you don’t take your alcohol or drug intake to the extremes, you will most likely sail through your four years without any major trouble. Alcohol poisonings have been the biggest threat recently to Albion’s reputation, and the administration takes that reputation very seriously. Anything that reflects badly on the College, they are looking to control.

All's Well.

The college is really great with keeping everyone safe. They understand that there's underage drinking, but they want to make sure you're safe rather than making sure you're in trouble. Campus Safety is great, rides with no questions asked. Drug use, however, is a lot more strict. I've had some friends not be able to return their next semester because they were caught. Still, the college will often let them back after a semester off. :)

Albion is a damp campus, meaning no drinking underage, and those of age can only have beer (no kegs) and wine. If you’re caught drinking underage or with hard liquor, you are fined and put on social probation. Basically, just don’t get caught.
