Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Albion has been named one of the “Most Wired” schools in the United States for good reason. Every dorm, building, and classroom has been set up for either a wired or wireless connection. You’ll find it easy to connect to the school’s network, as computer labs are in almost every building on campus. With so many possibilities available, lab crowding is only a problem when it’s close to midterms or finals. Even so, it’s well worth the money to have your own computer. It just makes things easier sometimes.

The other great part about Albion technology is the IT staff at the computer help desk, located in Ferguson across from the Ferg computer lab. If you have a problem with your personal laptop or desktop, IT will do whatever it can to try to fix the problem, free of charge. They also offer a great software package that is free to students and full of college necessities, which can be a nice surprise to incoming freshmen.

Not the Greatest

I avoid using the computers at Albion College in favor of my personal computer and printer. Wireless access is sketchy at times, and the on-campus computers are not always reliable.

Briton Technology

The computers at Albion are modern and up-to-date. They're located in convienient areas so students have easy access. Students have a username and password so information is safe and easily accessible. I haven't used the computers personally, but I've seen other students use them, and their on and off in no time. There is also WiFi all over campus so you can use your own if necessary.

The computer network is great and very convenient since your computer in your room can be hooked up to it. There are always computer labs available in the dorms, Robinson Hall, the library, and the Ferguson 24-hour lab, as well as in some other buildings on campus. The labs can be crowded at certain times, but there is pretty much always a computer available.
