Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Some students loathe the Michigan weather at Albion, and others love it. The first two weeks of school can be unbearably hot, but after Labor Day weekend, things start to cool off progressively until winter. Then it’s time to break out your winter coat, hat, scarf, and gloves, because even the shortest walk across campus can leave you shivering all over. Spring doesn’t really start until well after spring break, so most of the time you’ll be covered from head to toe.

Dressing in layers is always a good option because Michigan weather is so unpredictable. For that same reason, you should invest in an umbrella. Just be prepared for all four seasons, and let the clothes you bring match accordingly.

Michigan Weather

It does get fairly cold. But maintenance is really good about salting walkways. The worst thing is having to walk in the cold. But it really isn't all that bad since campus isn't too big.

Weather Has Little Effect

Because the campus is so small and classes are so close together, weather is not much of a factor on my experience on campus. Classes rarely get cancelled due to snow because many of the professors live nearby.

Michigan Weather

Michigan weather isn't very fun. However, with such a small campus, you never have to face long treacherous walks around campus. When it starts to warm up in the spring, you'll see everyone outside.
