I haven't had the opportunity to have an internship yet due to extenuating circumstances. I would love to have one, once I get things situated w/ these circumstances I'm bound by.

You can barely use Public Safety to get somewhere unless its the hospital

We are not in any major college athletic leagues, but we do make some Championships. I am not very familiar with sports on campus, but Football is the biggest sport, followed by basketball, swimming, and volleyball. Softball and baseball, field hockey, soccer, and lacrosse come next. Tennis and golf are often forgotten. We also offer intramural sports.

Greeks do philanthropy work, but they are extremely cliquey and snobby towards non-Greeks. They have a reputation of being "catty". They do throw lots of parties, and they have the reputation of being unfriendly, even towards each other. There is also the "pledging" process, which can turn aspiring Greeks against their non-Greek friends.

There are quite a few diners to go to. Temple Diner and 5th Street Diner are the best, by far.

The dorms at Albright College are average. Mohn Hall is the academic dorm, where I live, and it is great for doing work and hanging out with friends. There are lounges on every floor and somewhat large bathroom facilities. The lounges separate the girls from the boys, so you are always roomed next to your own gender. The halls are almost always quiet, so getting work done is simple.

My experience here has been great so far. The teachers and other faculty have all been really helpful and I've met some amazing people.

The teachers are always there to help, and the free tutoring offered in a large variety of classes make even the hardest courses easier to understand.

I'm a Studio Art major at Albright College, and while the professors are excellent and still very active in their field, there isn't much variety in the rograms offered. The traditional painting, sculpture, and photography is offered, and both are excellent, but if you are looking for anything other than that, there aren't many options.

Decent Division III Teams – There are a few decent sports teams here and a high percentage of the student body is a part of them, but the only one that gets a lot of attention is football.

Small Classrooms Allow for Lots of Discussion – All of my classes are very small (under 20 students), which allows for lots of discussion and one-on-one time with the professor. There are no large lectures or TAs.

The academic buildings are sort of old, but the gym is relatively new and nice, and everything is pretty close together so it's easy to get around.

Everyone has laptops, but if you really need to print, there are labs available.

The academic rooms and buildings are okay. nothing special but nothing bad either. the new science building is very nice along with the new areas of the sports center. overall not bad facilities but not spectacular either.

Plenty of Choices – There's plenty of choices to eat near Albright and cost is not more than usual. You can find any variety for minimal costs. Howver, there are not many student discounts around.

It's There for You! You can get a parking pass for a minimal cost here, however the streets that line the college are free to use since they are owned by the city. There's plenty of areas to park along the college but spots in the college's lots fill up fast and are often full.

Small College Experience – The town offers a view of city life for those who have not seen it. Being in Reading it is a new look due to the poverty in the city. The campus is small and convienent with new additions almost all the time. There's three malls close to campus and plenty of shops around. The safety can be a little concerning, but if you stay near the campus you should be fine! However, if you go into the city you risk your health. Most people have a positive attitude towards the students here in the community.

The process in becoming a Communications major is relatively easy. When I first came to Albright I knew that I wanted to be a Communications major because I love English and I knew that Communications had a lot to do with English. The college had me meet with my mentor and we discussed the different classes that I have to take to keep on track with my major. My mentor recommended many classes that I should take. With it being a liberal arts school there are classes that I have to take that do not relate to my major and they are not my strongest subjects so he recommended some classes that would cover the credit and help me get the farthest in my Albright education.

Close to Everything – All housing, except Woods Apartments, are very close to campus. The dorms are close to each other and connect through a quad. No one is ever too far away. My favorite dorm has been North Hall. It's a suite with its own common area. You can live with all of your friends in one hallway and never feel alone. It's a great atmosphere.

Limited Labs but Not the End All – There are two main computer labs on campus: Mathematics and Computing Building and the library. The only time a computer lab is ever crowded is during finals and if a class is held there. Printing is easy but can get a bit jammed. I would recommend investing in a personal computer and printer.

Not Difficult at All – Deciding a major is not a difficult process. The school allows the students to choose, and even allows for dual majors. Liberal arts at its core is the ability to study anything. As a freshman, I declared my English and Literature major. There were no difficulties getting into the program. Anyone can take an English major class without being an English major, which allows for new opportunities and interests.

Close Environment – Being at such a small college, the classes are much more personal and much more interactive. While taking courses to get my degree in English and Literature, I've met some amazing professors who take the time to make sure you're doing well. My academic adviser, one of my favorite professors, has been very helpful with the whole college experience. She takes my opinions into consideration and tells me to take chances. All professors want students to take chances. Without chances there would be no purpose of a degree.

During extreme weather conditions, like flooding and snow storms, classes are rarely cancelled. The campus isn't that big, so it's understandable, but you still have to navigate through huge puddles or thick sheets of ice. The school's working to make the paths easier to traverse, with new sidewalks and ramps.

It's Enjoyable – I personally really like the professors and academic needs for my majors. My professors are always there to answer questions, they email me back within a day if not hours. For my French courses they have a lot to say and I personally love being immersed in the French language with barely any English. My English professor so far has been amazing, she is always helpful and willing to help me with any questions that I have. It is also very easy to go to my professors and ask about study abroad options and internships they seem to love to help with those areas.

Could Be Better – It seems to me like either the security doesn't care or they just don't see the under-aged drinking that goes on. I have woken up at night to find someone drunk, or woken on a weekend morning to see someone had thrown up from being drunk despite my building being all freshmen. This is one of those things for which I cannot give a perfect score to the security etc. of the school.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
