Parties? More Like Social Gatherings – If underage here at Albright, your nightlife is going to be pretty much close to being non-existent. There isn't much to do. Yes, there are parties; these "parties" shouldn't even be classified as such because all people do there is stand around and converse as opposed to dancing and having a good time as they should. But if one isn't underage there are a few things that you could do, such as maybe grab a drink or cocktail at the local bar which isn't too far from the campus.

Lacking City – In Reading, they're a number of things that are different. One of which being that the city is so compact, there's barely any room to breathe in a sense. There is a conjugation of houses everywhere you go. I don't know too much about the cultural events of the city but one would imagine it would have some sort of Mexican/Hispanic orientation to it because that is what the majority of the city consists of. There aren't a number of activities to be done in the city at that. The shopping mall doesn't have a lot of the big designers that most people out of town are used to having in their various cities. There aren't a lot of area attractions either. As far as safety; there have been a number of mugging & robbing of Albright students already this past semester alone. Locals attitude towards the students seems to be good and welcoming, well most of them are warm and welcoming of the students while others aren't. There just isn't much to do in Reading.

There Are No Drugs. The drug scene at Albright is not big because the school's students are smart, but so people find a way unfortunate. The housing department is very strict and will confiscate the alcohol and drugs that they find.

Nice Housing in the Area! There is alot of nice housing near albright. The apartments are great and can fit many people in one. There is no worries when it comes to finding the right one.

Great Places to Eat! Albright has some of the best restaurants you can find within the city of Reading. These are not fancy 5 star restaurants but they are great for college students and athletes who would want a quick meal or have a nice sit in with friends. Personally I like T.G.I Fridays because the restaurant set's a atmosphere that is college friendly. There is also a pizzeria in the plaza next to the school where you can get the "Albright discount" and it come in handy, plus there cheep so its even better.

some difficulties I encountered were organization and deadlines, but the professors are very helpful and understanding. The most important criteria for admission are your GPA, and extra curricular activities. There is no abnormal application process. Make sure you study hard, but keep your life balanced so you can get the extra curriculars in.

School Spirit – There is a lot of school spirit at Albright College. Even if the teams aren't doing to well the students are always supporting them by going to the games and wearing the school colors.

Schumo Center – Brand new equipment was recently put in. Trainers are available when ever you need them. There are several other programs that are available to students like: yoga, zumba, x-biking. Very friendly staff.

Did one during the summer and one during the semester - not big name companies, but I actually got to do real meaningful work, not just be the coffee bitch.

Pub Safe – They drive around constantly, just don't be stupid. Or, be stupid like me and just don't get caught.

Computer Labs – Macs are great, Library computers are older, but overall they are good.

Football and Swimming are huge, as well as Basketball. Division III athletics, great facilities, some school spirit, but not a huge amount (except at homecoming!)

Predominantly White, but a good mix of races and culture for a school of its size. About 25% multicultural students, a good number for a school of only about 1650 students.

There are a variety of sororities and fraternities. They are always encouraging people to join in on activities with friendly smiles.

Professors and Such – There are a variety of classes offered at Albright College. The small classes allow the students to get to know the professors and become physically and mentally engaged with them.

Going to Stores – The campus is tiny so it's unnecessary to take a bus to classes, but target, walmart, and art supply stores are further away, so transportation is provided. There is also transportation to and from bars if needed. The only things you need to know are the schedules and the number.

Dorms and Social Atmosphere – The dorms at Albright are some of the worst dorms I have ever seen. They are tragically small, usually old, dirty, and there are limited clothes washers. Probably due to the size of the rooms, the social atmosphere is very good. I would talk and hangout with my neighbors all of the time. The dorms are also very close to the school and the washers, though few, are free.

Health & Safety:
Safety Services – Reading, Pennsylvania, is one of the most unsafe cities in the U.S., and that is where Albright is located. However, when I am on campus, I do not ever feel frightened or unsafe. It's when I go deeper into the community that I feel unsafe.

One Big Family – Reading is a very small town with a lot of people. Everyone knows everyone which makes Albright College a very nice school. Also, the elementary school, the middle school, and teh high school are all on the same block as the college. So everyone is very close.

A Different Way of Thinking – Albright is known for thinking differently. The professors and administrators are always willing to help out! Also, I see the president of the school almost everyday, that doesn't happen at other schools!

I Swear It Rains All the Time – I swear it is winter from October to May and then it just rains for the rest of the time. Especially this year, the rain has almost been non-stop. But, when it isn't raining and the sun is out, Albright and Reading is absolutely beautiful!

Mamas is a local place, just off campus. It is a pizza place. The staff is friendly, discounts are given to students, and the prices can't be beat. The also deliver, so it is great when you don't feel like leaving your dorm.
