My First Year Experience – My freshman year at Alcorn was amazing! I meet so many new individuals with different cultures. The campus is like home away from home. The faculty and staff push you and encourage you to do your best! They really want to see you succeed. The teachers will take out extra time to help you if you don't understand. There are many programs and scholarships at Alcorn that can assist you when you need guidance and financial assistance. The greek life really made the campus stand out. They have events that will allow students to come out of that nervous shell and experience fun. Other than the greek life, the college life is wonderful itself. You will make friends without a problem. Everyone is so friendly, and there is always a smile around. I am proud to say that i attend Alcorn State University and if you visit the campus, you would say the same!

Its ok, if you don't have a car, it can be realy difficult to get around to stores and things. You may have to rely on students with cars or weekend shuttling.

Well Diversed Campus – There many ethnic backgrounds present. They include African Americans and other individuals from Asia, Russia, India, Africa and etc. I feel as though the Individuals from outside of the U.S. are accepted into our student quite easily.

Full Tank of Gas – If you plan to party off campus at ASU, youd better have a plane ticket or a full tank of gas. You have t otravel soooo far to get places. Its rediculous.

Small but Cute – The city is small but cute. Depending on the type of personality you possess, you should enjoy yourself. You have to travel at least 30 minutes to get to everything but quiet country life is very rich in the area.

Although I have enlisted my experiences here at Alcorn State University. My academic advisor, Mrs. Betty Adams is helpful and offers great office hours on and off campus. She has helped me to enroll in classes that seemed impossible and has motivated me to take the challenge on with some instructors at Alcorn State University (ASU).

Great Staff on Natchez and Lorman Campus – Alcorn enrolls a large number of students each semester including both summer sessions. So, it is the student's responsibility to ensure that he or she takes a part in getting their Admission application and Financial Aid Application complete on time. Afterwards, Alcorn has a Supervisor for each department available to its students if they encounter a problem during the application process.
