The local home town food is excellent. There is a plethora of excellent restaurants to choose from.

The computers at my school library work fast however the internet connection in the dorm rooms are slow.

The athletics a the school are very open and involved in the school activities. They are very friendly and you can see the family bonds they have created.

The Town – The town is a very urban area but very calm and relaxed. The town is pretty close to the college and they participate in all the events that partake at the school.

Music Department – It is a very rigorous program. Do not underestimate the music here at A-B college. Though class selection is scarce and ensembles are small, students find themselves in an enriching program that digs really deep into the music. Students will leave the department feeling in some ways more prepared than students from larger universities.

New Expanding Programs – Just recently, A-B has been working on adding a football team and several other sports to the athletics program. Although the move is anticipated to bring in more students, it has involved major changes to scholarships all across campus. No one is sure how the program will turn out.

Guys & Girls:
Sporty Boys and Girls, All Friendly – Everyone gets along pretty good on campus, social life is huge on campus. There are many sports players at school.
College Junior 2012-01-10T17:09:18Z
We Have One Other Place to Us Flex Dollars – The food is good at school, and there is a bug variety. Probably one of the best places to eat in town. Althought there is only two placs on campus to eat and that is the dining hall, and the cave which is a hang out spot where you can order off of a menu

There is a pretty decent mix of people at AB. They have the athletes and the PA's and the music students. They also have a decent amount of international students (most of which were athletes).

College Is All What You Make It – AB is a veryy small school with less than 1000 kids. They are doing a bunch of much needed remodeling and working on bringing more people in which is good. I liked the small class sizes because I felt like I got alot more out of it than I would have otherwise. The town of philippi is not very supportive of the school in general although the school brings alot of business there. But like I said school is all what you make it. I met a lot of great people there and had some of my best times and worst there.

They Will Help – I received a decent amount of financial aid. The financial aid officers were eager to help and were organized with all your aid and what you need.

White School – There are mostly white students at A-B. The only diversity we have is on our basketball team. I believe the school does accept the diverse people and get along with everyone.

The academics at A-B is great. I personally came for the science department. It has very challenging coursework and will get you ready for graduate school if you insist. The professors know you by name and will be helpful in any situation for you. The campus is small and it is very easy to find friends and not become lonely.

Campus Life – I love being at AB. I love my volleyball teammates and my roommate. We are like a family here. We support each other. I wouldn't choose any other school. I've made so many new friends. The professors are very supportive and helpful, also. The community is very friendly and supportive of the college.

Varsity sports at AB are very competitive. We have very good coaches. Our trainers are great. We have pretty good fan support.

To get to a nice dining spot, you have to travel 20-30 miles from campus. We have some fast food restaurants close by. They are affordable and convenient. There is a Sheetz that has a lot of variety of fast foodm a little expensive. Jasmines is a restaurant on campus..very good food, excellent smoothies...you can using dining bucks at this restaurant, included in your room & board...

The Gym Is Ok – The colliseum (gym) is a pretty nice facillity but there is not enough room for both atheletes and non-athletes.

The weather around the campus is nice on most days. Its sunny and the temperature is usually just right. Now when it snows it makes things very difficult to do things especially for student commuters like myself. Campus hardly closes it classes but teachers are very understanding when it comes to the bad weather for those who can't make it.

Dorms of Living. There are three dormitory buildings on Alderson Broaddus College campus. There is an all girl dorimitory, which I lived in my Freshman year. I didn't have much complaints about the dorm, except for the fact there was no air conditioner. Another thing was you couldn't move around the furniture how you wanted it, how it was was how it was staying. The cost was an okay amount, but a little on the expensive side. The RA's were extremely nice on my floor and they always were asking if they could help you in anyway. There also is a co-ed dorm, which I will be staying in this year. I was over in that dormitory quite a bit last year visiting friends and from what I could tell I didn't have many complaints. I like that dorm because you are associated with more people rather than the dorm I stayed in last year where you were associated with few girls. The cost of the dorm is a little more than the all girls dorm. I'd say around $5,000. The last dorm is the upper classman and athletes dorm, which is by far the best one. The rooms are nice and spacious along with the bathrooms. The cost is the most expensive at about $6,000. This dorm has the best parking, which is right out front and right out the back of the dormitory. All in all the dorms are nice, but a little on the expensive side.

The computers at Alderson Broaddus College aren't the most top notch computers, but they get the job done. Most students at the college have their own personal labtops and so therefore there's not usually many students in the library on the computers. There are plenty of computers however on campus. There's two or three computer labs including one in the library. All the labs have printers so you can print off things, so if a student doesn't own a printer it's not hard to find one. There is also one that only the students who are in the art program use, which are top of the notch computers (iMacs). The wifi at the college is fast about 99% of the time, I've never had a complaint about it. Overall the computers/technology at Alderson Broaddus College is great!

A One of a Kind Environment. Alderson Broaddus College is located in the small historic town of Philippi in the state of West Virginia. The 19 building school sets on top of the hill over looking the small town. In downtown Philippi there is a bowling alley and roller skating and nice set down restaurants. As for the movies or other fun things to do you have to drive about half an hour to Clarksburg for movies and other such things. There's not a whole lot to do in Philippi, but the students make sure to make the best of it. When a new student comes on campus they are always greeted with a warm welcome. Alderson Broaddus College is known for their welcoming and extra nice students. I know as a college student when going to eat in the cafeteria you can lay your backpack out in the lobby area and no one touches your things. That's one thing I enjoy about this college. The college has many sporting events and the students are great about cheering on each sport, especially boys basketball. Other sporting events include; boys and girls cross country, boys and girls soccer, girls volleyball, baseball and softball, boys and girls basketball, and track and field. These are some of the great things you shall find when visiting Philippi and/or Alderson Broaddus College!

If you don't have a car of your own you either have to borrow or catch a ride with someone because there is no transportation downtown to Philippi at all.

For the freshman its a little harder to find parking or we have to park a longer distance away than anyone else. As for commutors they have to get on campus early because sometimes, after a weekend the freshman haven't moved there cars yet and there are no spaces to park. As for tickets the security might write them and put them on your cars but they don't turn them in so you rarely get caut.

Health & Safety:
I have a fiance in a different dorm than I am in so when I go over to his room during the afternoon its okay to walk over but usually on the way back to my dorm it dark by then. There are girl who have been raped on campus and nothing was done about it. So I always walk fast and make sure that I am in the lighting that is available there. There isn't much and because of this I don't always feel safe walking from dorm to dorm.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
