There is a really great library that keeps you focus when studying. There is enough open spaces as well as sports field/ courts to stay active. There is a great view of the town. Every week there is an activity through the school that we all participate in.
The town is very small and the closest big town is 30 minutes away in every direction. The town its self has the basic things to do, they have few restaurants that are not expensive. There is a bowling alley; there is a museum, and a library. Philippi is one of the first battle sites for the civil war.
Our school is really strict on being a dry campus No alcohol at any time. Our schools academic is really good the teachers are always willing to help and there are plenty of tutors and places to go to get help.
If you live off campus, be prepared to drive in horrible winter weather conditions. Classes are rarely ever cancelled.
The good thing is that most professors are very understandable when it comes to the weather. If you send them an email saying you can't get out, then they'll most likely tell you to STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE.
Spring through early autumn is the best thing about Alderson-Broaddus. It's crisp and refreshing, and you'll find a lot of students enjoying it. There is even an outdoor classroom in which students can enjoy the environment while the professor lectures.
The only transportation we have are vans, which are reserved dominantly for school events, Here-And-There Transit, and self-owned vehicles. It's a small campus, but it would be nice to have a small shuttle to go with it.
