Safety

The campus is small and very safe. You can go out alone at night without worrying about your safety. The local Police work closely with the schools public safety and rescue squad. However it is a university and things will happen once in a while.

Fare

Alfred is reasonable with its policies. The RA's are very good at maintaining a positive and safe living community. They know what it is like to be a student at the school so they are trying to be helpful and not discipline figures. Alfred strives to be firm, fare, and consistent.

Expensive, but Parking Is Everywhere

The permit cost was a bit expensive, but you can park almost anywhere around campus. Parking is a little sparse around the dorms, but otherwise it's good. Technically you don't need a car, with your ID you can ride the bus to the nearest chain grocery stores, and there's a mom and pop grocery shop just off campus, called Kinfolk. A car is really only needed if you live close enough to visit family. Everything on campus is within walking distance. If you just want to get around campus, a bike is better, and there are bike hubs everywhere on campus!
