Bashing the cafeteria food is a national pastime at colleges across America. Students at Alfred are no different, as most will admit that the food in the cafeteria is pretty average! There seems to be a lot of grease used in preparing the food, and many students wish there were healthier options. One option that the University recently initiated was going trayless, which reduces food and beverage waste.
At both Ade and Powell dining halls, students have the option of burgers and fries, pizza, a soup and salad bar, deli, or roast. There’s also a featured entrée daily. Sometimes the University even hosts guest chefs and caterers from nearby restaurants. The only hitch is that the same menu every week can be monotonous. Also, the dismal offering of vegetarian/vegan choices is inexcusable.
