The tuition at Hancock is reasonable, and the same as any other California community college. My entire tuition costs are covered by financial aid, and applying for the aid was fairly simple.
One of the most unique opportunities I've experienced at Hancock was being able to see cadavers in my human anatomy class. Not a lot of community colleges have those types of resources available.
I personally love online classes, but I feel one of my teachers tended to overcompensate with workload for a class that should be simple because it is online. I have only experienced this with one class and this teacher was absolute over-kill. Other than this sociology class, I havn't had any problems with teachers and the workload was sufficient for the specific class.
The financial aid I recieved through AHC was a big help when I was eligible for it and was an extremely simple process. I received BOG a few years and also the Allan Hancock Foundation scholarship which was extremely helpful. Filling out the FAFSA online was easy and saved alot of time and hassel going into the office and filling out paperwork. I feel like I get my moneys worth at AHC as far as registration goes. I think it's fairly priced for the education you receive.
I have been attending AHC since I graduated high school and wasn't all sure what I wanted to do as a career. After I received my associates degree in liberal arts I decided to keep going and start a career in nursing. I didn't know what this was going to mean for my life at the time, but it changed me as a student. Every class I have taken that has been part of my nursing prerequisites has been a huge challenge. I say challenge in a positive manner...you really have to be on top of your game to successfully get through the sciences leading up to the lvn program. The teachers that I have had for these classes have all been amazing and I have learned so much from each one of them.
