My Allegany College Experience – I love going back to college because I currently take classes online and it makes it easy for me to be able to work and get my degree at the same time. The instructors work well with me and make learning so easy.

I can't give a grade of this because I haven't participated in any online courses at this time.

My Experience at ACM. They're extremely helpful, especially since I'm dual enrolled in high school and college. The teachers are wonderful, and I've experienced little hassles.

Online classes require a lot more effort on the students part. You need to be very self driven. Although I do like the flexibility online classes offer. They are harder so you need to definitively take them more seriously.

ACM Is a Great Starting Place – The professors I have had so far are very friendly and flexible with assignments. You can tell they love teaching. The library is fairly new and a great place to go when studying. They also let you know up front which credits will transfer to a four year university, as most of the general education courses will be transferable.

Great Health School! Being a local, I was surprised at how impressive the health education programs are at this school. I feel like I am getting a high quality education from people who really care.

The Typical Student Is Non Typical – We have a diverse group of students both in age and in racial make up. I have enjoyed meeting people from so many different areas and backgrounds.

Online Class – The online classes are ok if you are experienced, but I wouldn't recommend them for a first semester student. They require a lot of organization and ability to self motivate

Hometown Feel – We are on a campus in a small town; however we are close to many larger cities. Morgantown, Baltimore and DC are all easy to get to for a night on the town.

On-Line Courses – Some have requirements that are very difficult to complete without being in the classroom, whichis supposed to be the advantage of on-line courses.

Academic Flexibilty – classroom and on-line classes make it easier to attend classes around real life

Student Center – The student center is very lively. There are always groups meeting and having events or visits from other colleges. There is a lot going on here - something for everyone really.

I tried one of these. It didn't work too well for me. I just wasn't comfortable without the face to face interaction with my instructor

The online courses are wonderful. It was a little confusing at first since the instructors use a variety of formats. However once I got used to it, I have enjoyed the flexibility a great deal.

Communications Major – I am in my second year. At first I was very frustrated by the amount of general education courses that I was required to take. However, now I am grateful for that experience. I have learned a great deal which I feel I can apply in the real world later.

Young People – I went to a local high school, so I know a lot of my class mates, but there are people here from three states so it is a good group

They are very challenging. You have to be very self motivated. Every instructor is different.

Student Dedication – In my classes I am disturbed at how many of the students just don't seem to care. They miss a lot of classes and never try to catch up on the lesson at home even though it's posted on Bb.They show up for class with no homework assignment completed. As a 51 yr. old student if it was my kid i would yank him out of school and put him in the school called "WORK".

Instructor Flexibility – The flexibility depends on the instructor I have a History instructor who won't budge an inch, but I've had an Art and English instructors that were very flexible with assignments.

Online Course – The online courses are good in that all of the required information is available and easy to find. Also the instructors are all quick to respond to email when you have a question. Sometimes it is a little confusing that each instructor administers tests in a different manner. Sometimes you have to go in, other times you work from home.

The workload is heavy but not unmanageable. I find the instructors helpful and there are tutors available if you run into trouble
