Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Allegheny guys and girls are actually pretty representative of the general population. There are some very attractive people and some very unattractive people, but all in all, most students are just plain average when it comes to looks. There’s also a pretty even mix of guys and girls, so it’s not like one sex has a harder time finding someone than the other.

A great aspect of Allegheny is the mixture of lifestyles. There are hippies, jocks, preps, nerds, punks, stoners, and every other possible type of person you could think of. You won’t have to worry about finding someone that suits your personality or style because there are all kinds of people with different points of view and opinions. Most Allegheny students are very passionate about their particular area of study, so finding someone else with the same drive can be the basis for a relationship. On the inside, most Alleghenians are nerds (whether or not their outward appearance shows it is another matter). Allegheny students like to party and have fun, and they would like to date attractive people, but intelligence, ambition, and success are what Gators find most attractive.

There is everything

Most people are average looking but here are some very attractive guys and girls on campus. People are very nice and easy to get a long with. Not hard to find a longterm relationship or just a one night hookup.

Guys and Gals

People here are weird. Flat out odd. But you know what, we're all here to get good grades, learn, and finish our degrees. The social life is ok, you basically have to make your own fun but that typically works out well. I can almost guarantee you'll find someone like you here because there are so many personalities on campus.

Need to Change Your Standards

The girls at Allegheny are for the most part really nice that are pretty easy to meet and get to know. On the down side there are just not a lot of jaw dropping sexy girl on campus. The typical scale of 1-10 is not a good tool to use here because well it has to be modified for the Allegheny scale. A 5 on the normal scale is about a 7.5 on the Allegheny scale. The ratio is good but more hot girls would definitely be nice. Luckily though the girls that are here are all a lot of fun though.

Social Scene

Freshmen tend to hang out with only other freshmen at first, which can be boring since freshmen don't tend to throw parties, and if they tried, they'd get caught. The biggest challenge at Allegheny concerning the social scene is finding upperclassmen to party with. This isn't all that difficult. Most upperclassmen at Allegheny realize how hard it is to be a freshman and invite any freshmen they know to their parties. Once this happens, freshmen shouldn't have a single problem. Although there are different groups of people on campus, none tend to exclude others.

Hookups or Relationships?

There are both hookups and relationships, but it seems like relationships are more common.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

Most people seem to meet their significant others through class, work, or college organizations, but parties are another great place to meet people.

Dress Code

There is every style known to man (or woman) at Allegheny. There are people who come to class in their pajamas and others that dress up in skirts and high heels or suits and ties. There are people who never wear shoes, hippies, punks, preppy people, and everyone in between. Whatever your style, you'll fit in somewhere at Allegheny.
