Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The Winslow Health Center exists on campus with a couple of nurse practitioners available each day until 4 p.m. They are stocked with medicine for most anything, excluding reproductive health; the Health Center does not carry birth control or Plan B, although about a quarter of the students they see seek contraception or help with sexual health problems.

An honor code exists on campus that students sign when they first enroll, stating that the student will not cheat, steal, or violate College policies on harassment or discrimination. The students abide by this policy surprisingly well. Many students don't think twice about walking home alone after dark or leaving their laptops and books at a table if they want to go grab some food between study sessions. Security often provides rides to students into town to pick up a prescription, get a doctor's checkup, or go to the hospital if sick. There are several call-boxes across campus, but they are rarely used, although Security will certainly walk students home if called. Brooks Hall remains unlocked all day because it also holds a dining hall, but the rest of the dorms require card access to enter. There are no security cameras or anything to monitor the buildings or labs, but crime generally stays low.
