The Other Place (The Penny Bar)
The Penny Bar is a favorite place to hang out with friends and drink cheaply. Its name comes from the fact that the walls, bar, and most of the interior are covered in pennies. Inside there is even a Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial built entirely out of pennies. They have the cheapest pitchers in town, free ham salad sandwiches on Tuesdays, free popcorn on Fridays, and the best pickled eggs you could ever imagine. There is a free pool table, a pool table you have to pay for, pingpong, and board games. There is also food, which includes spam sandwiches, chips, ham sandwiches, Kielbasa sandwiches, and a soup du jour.

What to Do if You're Not 21What's This?
House parties
House parties are the biggest form of nightlife at Allegheny and really the only thing available for people under 21. Loomis Street is famous for its rowdy parties and so are some special-interest houses. Off-campus parties are usually the best because there is less chance of it getting busted. Only upperclassmen really throw house parties, largely because they are the only ones with houses.
