It is very involved in the community and the campus community also.

Alma is slowly starting to update some of their housing. A little each year is done.

They are hard, but good classes. The grading system is different here then other schools which hurt a lot of the students.

The teachers are sometimes easy to get a hold of. There are the ones that are hard to deal with and ones that are easy to deal with.

Some of the teams are good and some more need work.

The internet was working great last year but we have had some problems with it this year.
College Junior 2013-10-14T19:12:45Z
Have never lived off campus
College Junior 2013-10-14T19:10:51Z
There are only 3 places to eat and only 2 of the 3 take meals. The food quality is crap! We have a brand new dining facility that is AWESOME, but we still have the same crappy food.
College Junior 2013-10-14T19:09:12Z
The permit cost is off the charts, the cheapest is $150 for a block off of campus. There isn't enough room for all the cars on campus.

Alma College takes their policies on drugs and alcohol very serious. First, Any student caught with drugs will have to face serious consequences. Second, alcohol is allowed on campus, but for those who have it. One rule is that anyone over the age of 21 and is rooming with someone under the age of 21 cannot have alcohol in their dorm room. Also, there are dorms that are substance free and do not allow alcohol or drugs with 15 feet of the dorm itself.

Alma has great campus dorms that are pretty large and they range from double rooms to single rooms. The campus dining is pretty average but hopefully renovations will make it better this school year. Alma has tons of organizations from academic clubs to Greek life.

Pretty much everybody on Alma's Campus is of the same religious beliefs since it is a private college associated with a christian church, but Alma does not discriminate do to religion or race.
College Senior 2013-08-15T07:22:43Z
Parking on campus is great because everybody from seniors to freshman can have their car on campus. Parking is also close to the dorms since Alma is such a small campus. The major issue with the parking is that it is expensive and small housing does not get much in parking areas.

My school's study abroad program has allowed me to go to Australia for a semester and experience life in a different country for four months. Some people might think that Alma is expensive and they are right it is, but I would not trade the opportunities that I have had at Alma and the experiences I have had in Australia for a larger, less expensive school.

Health & Safety:
Personally, I feel very safe at Alma. Security is always around or just a phone call away anytime. The campus is so small that i never feel threatened. I think there's like one emergency phone booth on campus. Some of the frat parties can get scary if you're too drunk, but Alma has a special policy called the good samaritan and if you call for help for a drunk friend no one gets in trouble, they just get help. assistance is easy to find.

The snow is beautiful in the winter, but classes never get cancelled because the dorms are so close to the academic building. It gets super hot in the dorms when school begins which sucks, but everyone has their own ways of making it better with fans and ac units and such. everyone enjoys the sun. The middle of fall weather is wonderful. Perfect jeans and hoodie weather.

Alma is a great school, but it doesn't have a whole lot of diversity. The majority of the school is middle class or upper middle class white people. I'd imagine that most students there are christian because it's a christian college but there are some that are not. Even though there is little diversity, there's a whole lot of acceptance.

Alma is a very prestigious college for being a small school. They have showed me many impressive things about their business program that made me decide to go there
College Sophomore 2013-07-07T23:20:57Z
The dinning hall isn't bad at Alma. The food that they have is pretty good and they are revamping their whole cafeteria to make it bigger. There are also off campus options too

Some of the campus housing (like Newberry and Wright) are flat out awesome and spacious, while others clearly got the shaft. Choose wisely at Alma.

Class is always in session at Alma. The teachers are so dedicated that classes are almost never cancelled. Another plus, classes are often only a five minute walk, so there really is never an excuse for not going.

There are A LOT of great places to eat for such a small town. I've never had such a good breakfast as that offered at the main street cafe. The locals have a great relationship with the students based on the large variety of community activities they plan together.

Some of the best athletic programs and coaches you can ask in a smaller school are here at Alma. Some of the programs do not get as much funding as they should, but the more than superb coaching makes up form this minor shortcoming.
College Sophomore 2013-06-26T03:02:16Z
Alma is a small town, there is a lot to do on campus but not a lot in town.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
