Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Athletics could honestly be better. There is very little of a following for the teams, and the majority of students that tries out makes it because there is such a small pool of students to choose from. The athletics program is becoming bigger, but it is quite slow. On the plus side, students, faculty, and staff can get into games for free, so there is no excuse for not checking out some games. The intramural sports have failed miserably. Everyone is so busy at Alverno with their outside lives and jobs that no one has time to play sports for fun. The College even tried having a monthly dodgeball night, and only two people showed up.

Even though Alverno sports are slowly growing, they still have a long way to go. But, honestly, Alverno's mission is not to have the best basketball players in Milwaukee; its mission is to give women the chance to have a higher education. An active athletics department is going to take a long time to develop, but with the continually increasing student population, there will naturally be more and more students who are interested in playing sports.
