Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Alverno recently switched from doing its own food services to having a company come in to handle it, which has made a drastic change in the food and atmosphere on campus. They are trying new healthier food options, including a variety of vegetarian dishes. The food on campus is far from five-star gourmet, but there are a lot of options for everyone. It is surprising if a student does not like at least one thing the school has to offer. However, there is a lot of complaining about the food. When students were asked to fill out a survey about what they wanted to be changed, a lot of students said they wanted healthier foods, but when healthier foods were introduced by Dining Services, many complained about the offerings. The conclusion is if students are not specific in what they want, they are not going to get what they want.

Many college meal plans are for a certain number of meals per day, whereas at Alverno students have a lump sum of money and can spend it however they want. If they do not spend it by the end of each semester or the end of the school year, the money is kept by Alverno. However, at the end of the semester, students can buy bulk food to take home with them so their money isn’t lost.

Food Great at Alverno

There are so many different food options at Alverno and many places to eat. The cooked meals are like mom's and the grilled options are excellent. There are also many options for health-conscious people and vegetarians.

Dining at Alverno College

Dining in at Alverno is way more expensive than eating out in a fast food restaurant. Menus have a variety, but the more healthier the options are,the more expensive the food gets.
