Rules on campus are rules: If they are broken, students will be punished. The administration on campus is not tolerant of any breeches to the rules. Students who put themselves in danger, especially when it comes to drugs and alcohol, are dealt with quite harshly. There are, however, warnings given out to students who do not check in their guests at Austin Hall or do not follow the general safety rules, especially at the beginning of the year when everyone is just learning the rules. But after the "all-hall meeting," students are walked through all the College rules and procedures, and are then held completely accountable for their actions. Some desk workers are more lenient than others on students breaking rules, which causes issues when one person allows students to break rules without consequence and others are upholding the rules.
As an all-women's college, it is incredibly important that students feel safe while living on campus. CAs do understand and listen to different situations of each person, and the punishments are by no means the same across the board. However, if someone has done something everyone knows is against the rules, they will be punished or reprimanded. Punishments can be anything from creating a poster board about why it is important not to commit the wrongful act to having guest privileges taken away.
