Alverno College's computers are pretty up-to-date because as computers become older, the College replaces them. In the past, this would take a while, but the school is getting better at staying on top of this. The school has also started adding more computer labs because the student population keeps growing. Nearly all students who live in the dorms bring their own computers to have in their rooms. Each dorm room is already equipped with Internet; it just has to be enabled, which is as easy as filling out a form and giving it to the information technology department.
The majority of campus has wireless Internet, which is awesome for students who have laptops. Many students bring their laptop to The Mug or Commons during lunch to do some work or check the Internet. If you don't want to tote your laptop everywhere, don't worry—there are computer kiosks throughout campus where students can check their email on the way to class. In terms of printing, each student is allotted 400 pages per semester, and if they print double-sided, which is encouraged, they can get 800 pages a semester. Alverno also has software programs such as SPSS and Inspiration on a large majority of school computers, so students can have access to programs they normally would not buy for their own computer.
