Since Alverno is an all-girls school, there are women of all shapes, sizes, and from every walk of life, so it really just depends on what you consider attractive. Students at Alverno are generally friendly and more than happy to assist new students, and there is a sense of undeniable community. Women at Alverno are also incredible listeners, engaging conversationalists, and well-rounded individuals. Even though this is a women's school, there are a handful of male students, but they are either part of a master's or licensure program. They are usually older and, therefore, not typical young college hotties.

Alverno is largely a commuter college, with a large portion of nontraditional students who have children or are married. There is not a promiscuous feeling at all on campus because Alverno is about empowering women through education. Students are at Alverno either to study, go to class, or hang out with friends—not to try to hook up with random people.

Alverno is an all girl school so there are only girls. Student's looks varies. Some dress bummy all the time, but some come dressed casually/formally. Most people are very friendly and I've heard a lot of people becoming great friends from meeting one another at Alverno.

All Girls Catholic School

Not many guys will be found on campus unless they are instructors or Masters program students. Otherwise, the girls seem to get along really well. Perhaps that is because we host students and faculty from all over the world, or that we are a college with an emphasis on community, service, and globalism... Alverno students work together with little to no drama.

I believe that the women at alverno are more mature than high school kids. They They are not preppy and stuck up like they may have been. They are very friendly and want to make new friends.

Social Scene

The social scene borders on casual professional. Walking down the hall, students smile at one another, and everyone feels really quite welcomed, but this is where the interaction ends. Students generally do not start talking to people in the lunch line or become friends with someone they don’t already know. Students stick together based on their areas of study, and most friendships are made in class. Students who play sports are likely to hang with other students who play sports. Everyone is friendly, but not completely outgoing. On the other hand, if you start talking to someone, they will carry on a conversation with you, even if they don’t know you.

Hookups or Relationships?

A large majority of girls who live on campus have serious boyfriends who go to school in Milwaukee or in other areas of the country. The College's Community Advisors have even done programs about long-distance relationships because they are so common. There isn’t a lot of gossip about random hookups, although there are always a few who choose this route. Most of the girls on campus have significant others.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

There really isn’t a dating scene on campus. The best place to meet girls on campus would be in the Commons or The Mug. There aren’t a lot of students who hang out in public areas other than these two. Lots of girls invite their boyfriends, who often bring friends. The best place to meet guys is off campus. There are all kinds of sporting events around Milwaukee that are prime hunting grounds for hot guys!

Dress Code

A majority of students at Alverno dress professionally because they are either coming or going to their jobs. However, there are a large percentage of students who dress casually in jeans and a T-shirt.
