Safety and Security personnel are willing to do whatever they need to to keep the students safe on campus. And being an all-women’s college, safety is extremely important. The Alverno campus is quite compact and extremely well lit, so there really aren’t many unsafe, hidden, dark places. However, if a student feels uncomfortable walking anywhere on campus, security officers do offer escorts. This is especially nice for students who have late classes, some that end at 10 p.m., and have parked in the parking structure. Security also has quite a presence on campus, and you'll regularly see officers as they make their rounds through each building during their shifts. They also make rounds through the dorms, but not as frequently as the rest of campus, which is nice because resident students have more privacy.

Another typical activity you'll see safety officers doing is helping students who lock themselves out of their rooms. From midnight until 8 a.m., an officer staffs Austin Hall's front desk. The Safety and Security officers at Alverno are also easy to approach and personable.

Security

The security is very strict there is always a police officer around campus. Since it is an all girls school everyone is really respectful of each others things. There are RARELY any stealing and never fights that go on on the campus. Overall I always feel very safe on campus.

Feeling Safe on Campus

The moment I steped on Alverno's grounds I felt the warmth, energy and friendliness of a college community. I am very familiar with the neighborhood around Alverno, which makes me feel more confortable and relaxed. As far as campus crime or neighborhood crime I don't know the rates but as long as I've lived a couple blocks down the road I've never felt unsafe!

Safety at Alverno

Going to Alverno is my biggest goal in life. I have visited alverno and i descibed it as safe and perfect for me. Is well located and seems to be confortable.
