Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Milwaukee has a wide variety of housing options—you can find apartments, duplexes, condos, or houses all for rent. The area around Alverno is mostly residential, but there are apartment complexes dispersed among the family homes. For student budgets, the Alverno Pool Apartments, which are not in any way affiliated with the College, give Alverno students a better chance at getting an apartment. These apartments are less than two miles from Alverno, which is a perfect distance for students to ride their bikes or even walk.

There is also housing downtown in the high-rise buildings and apartments on the lake. Milwaukee offers both a metropolitan feel or a residential atmosphere, depending on your preference. If you live on campus at Alverno, it is easy to forget you live in Milwaukee, so living in an apartment that is more in the city is nice. But, no matter where you are in Milwaukee or the surrounding area, there is a place that works for everyone. A lot of people who go to Alverno live with their parents and commute, which seems to work out all right for them.

Nice to have my own space away from school

Living off campus is great because I need my own space away from school. I like being around my friends and family because it gives me an outlet. I could never live on campus because the people you have class with, you live with… you work with.

It really depends on your lifestyle

It really depends on your lifestyle. If students are working on campus, living on campus might be more convenient. I work off campus so it gives me time away from school which is super nice.
