Still Early but So Far So Good – Not all schools offer my degree program, but this school does. There is a community post due on Wednesdays which force students to interact which is pretty nice. The website is easy to use and I like that your curriculum is set from the beginning so you know what to expect and you don't have to deal with registering for classes. Also your books are sent to you automatically and they are included in the overall price. And the price is more reasonable than some of the other schools I have looked at

the network has some issues with it, but it has to do with the surroundings. I have no problems most of the time with it. The speed at which I can get access to the school is good.

Love My Classes – The classes are fun and I learn a lot from the instructors that I have. The classes are disigned to help me learn. The workload is hard, but flexible enough so I can learn.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Financial aid has helped me by always contacting me back after I sent my proof of my taxes, to confirm my fafsa. They were also helpful to inform me of a grant that will be offerd at my school totaling 500.00 that I can get with a written essay contest.

Honesty First at AIU – I am very happy my first choice was to attend AIU, having been contacted by another online college the Kaplin university they knew that I was already signed up with AIU, but still insisted that I consider their online university, they said that the cost would be lower and yes the tuition was lower but I felt deceved by them because the advisor did not mention the 100.00 a month technology fee, so I discused changeing schools and waisted time filling out the paperwork, later after I was contacted by AIU, my advisor did some research and informed me of this monthly technology fee, and It would cost me a lot more because of this, I was outraged, that I had been decieved by the Kaplin university, and my AIU advisor said that the totals I had been given was the honest amount no hidden fees included, and thanks to the research by my AIU admissions advisor I was informed of this, and he was able to keep me from a bad choice, I had made with incorrect information and hidden fees. I know that AIU is the right school for me because they are honnest with me and my finances.

It is difficult to comment on this as we are an Online class. I haven't had the opportunity as of yet to communicate with students outside the class.

My AIU Experience – I looked into other schools, but AIU with its online convenience and informative staff made me feel like I could call it home. The hours are convenient, the schedules of my classes, and the options that they offer with their learning processes are incredible.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
My overall experience with AIU has been very rewarding. My Advisers have been extremely helpful in guiding me through the Orientation process. The Financial Aid Dept. walked me through the entire process and gave me links and information for Scholarships to help me. My Professors are friendly, informative, and available to answer questions I may have.
It was nerve racking going back to further my education and I was worried I might not have been able to handle work, family, and college, but AIU has helped me to make it all a reality.

Lots of Stuff – The cyber school has a lot of times where there are problems with the site because everyone's assignments are due on the same days, Wednesday and Sunday. If you are not able to upload on these days, its your fault anyhow. The online library is excellent though

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Education Costs and Stipend Disbursements – At this school, the tuition is very unpredictable. The costs rises almost every three months instead of once per year. As a single mother of three kids, the disbursements are very helpful in helping me to have the tools that I need for school and cushion the cost of going to school instead of working at a job outside of the home but I see that every quarter, I receive less and less. The amount that I am awarded never matches up with what I actually receive because tuition rises so often. I have seriously considered changing schools on more than one occasion to a place where the tuition is not as high, currently about $21K per year (4 quarters). The market is being so overrun with college graduates right now that I cant understand why tuition would be increasing so much.

Unique Degree Programs – This school has all sorts of degree programs but what sets this school apart from others is the timing. You can receive an associates within 2 whole years, but this school, you can receive it within 15months.

Sounds Like a Good Opportunity – The way the advisor explained everything to me and how/when classes will start and end, it sounds like a good opportunity for me.

Marketing Research – On-line courses are great in my opinion because I learn more on-line than in a classroom because not every individual is on the same wavelength and by learning on-line helps me get what I need moreso than in the classroom because it slows me down by having to wait until the teacher explains any question another student doesn't understands the pros and cons of the course taught.

Student Diversity – I attend with students from all over the world. I have students that live in Hawaii in my class, and I had one that lived in Iraq and was attending class while he was active military. A wide variety of ethnic groups, economic status and different age groups as well as a mixture of male and female. The challenges are very rewarding because the level of acceptance is pretty high, most students are like my age, returning to school to finish a degree they started earlier in life, so the maturity level is very high, experiences are high and rewarding. I love the diversity the most, it is what makes AIU so unique and rewarding.

AIU Academics – AIU offers many curriculums and they have added specialities with those curriculums to give you extra learning enhancements with your degree. The professors are experienced in the subjects they teach, they have years of work experience in that partiular class they teach. Class registration is all laid out for you once you begin your curriculum, and you take one class every 5 weeks, two classes continuous and then a 1 week break, it is excellerated, for me atleast. My workload is easy, I just take one class at a time, the work is hard, it requires a lot of discipline to work and make the grades, because it is a lot of research involved in my courses. I have picked forensics as my specialty area of study as a concentration to my criminal justice degree. I have learned a lot from my professors, they are all graduates in the area they have taught, have doctrines in their specialty areas, and have worked in that field to give you current and real world experiences to learn from.

My Virtual Campus – I attend at AIU Online, so I can access my campus 24-7. We have learning labs, interactive labs, and library that is accessible 24-7. The student center is available to me by way of different social clubs, or academic clubs that I may want to attend. I have access to tutoring online, or emailing classmates, or if we are online at the same time, I can instant message anyone available. The accessibility is phenomenon.

Criminal Justice – To be a specific major at my school is very rewarding, challenging, intriguing, exciting and educational. My workload is hard but obtainable. The curriculum allows me to include my concentration of forensic science, which gives me the incentive of learning to be a crime scene investigator as I desire. The faculty and staff care about me as a student and they accomodate my every need or issue that I have. Internships are not available to me yet, I still have to take a couple more classes to have the hours required. The job opportunities are really endless, I could become the investigator that I always wanted to be.

Most of the student body at my school consist of people who want to further their education but can't go to a traditional college. I have found that many of them are smart and enthusiastic and fun to work with. They are all very accepting and work hard in class.

Academics at AIU – I go to school at AIU and I have had nothing but a positive experience there. The curriculum is challenging but there is someone there to help you all the time. It is very fast paced so there is no such thing as getting bored. The proffesors are there online to have any questions you have answered right away if they not around you can send them an email and they respond within the next 24 hrs. I was new to online school and someone was there the whole time to walk me through the process and gave me several numbers to call if I had further questions later in the day. I love this school and wouldn't choose any other place.

They are better then they once had been. but don't try and drop a class and then retake a class latter. they will mark it as a failed class and still charge you for it.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The financial aid office has gotten better since i first started at the school. However, they are not good at telling you what to expect with the cumming year and they have even shut down my classes for error that where on there side. I think they need better training. The best suggestion i have is to ask ponied questions and call often since they don't communicate well.
