Tuition & Financial Aid:
It Is Way Cheaper to Get My Bachelors Here – I went to school at an in-state university and at American InterContinental University I will earn my bachelors in almost half the time with half the price.

One Flop With Credits – I can only think of one issue regarding the transfer of credits, which involves one class I had recently taken at a previous institution. There was a problem with identifying similarities within the curriculum, and they didnt want to give me credit for the class, requring me to retake it. In the end they allowed the credits to be transferred.

More Design Choices – I would like more choices and emphase on the graphic design program. I do like the format of the on-line classes but if the live lectures could be more interative I think it would be more benificial.

Professor/Student Relationship – it is obvious the professors at AIU really do care about the student success. Professors are available by Instant Messaging, Office hours, phone, Live chats, e-mail and by appointment. All the professors I have had encourage questions, are focused on course content and grade papers fairly per AIU Rubric criteria. Instructors are not only teachers, they are also employed and practicing their professions and bring and apply their experiences to the classroom class, enhancing the learning experiences of students.

AIU Unique Learning Experiences – E books, learning center tools, and library reduce the cost of purchase of hard texts, This is good as because most texts published today will be obsolete in 5-7 years. Although principles will remain the same, the content will not.
One of the most positive attributes of AIU is it student adviser involvement with individual student achievements and success, Advisers are knowledgeable of the advice they give, following up with students weekly in order to identify and solve problems which may be hindering the students success. One disadvantage to the student adviser program is the colleges' decision to change advisers each class sessions. Another positive attribute to online classes is that each class is real life applications to the courses, and the accomplished Instructors assigned to each class., which enhances student's learning experiences.

Students at American Intercontinental Online are a diverse group of learners motivated towards life improvement. many students are baby boomers and Generation x societies. High level of African American and Asian ethnicity. Most students work full time and have families and attend evening classes online. Online education is challenging in that studies are independent, require self discipline and motivation, and critical thinking to complete assignments. The college is committed to student success. Academics, financing and moral support are the enforcement this commitment. Personally, I prefer online education to the physical campus. All class materials and resources are readily available and match each classes requirements. There is not waiting for reference books, no traffic jams, or long hikes to classes.

Art Appreciation Instructor Prof. Nicole Woodford – I experience a lot of pressure and unfair grades from Professor Nicole Woodford when taking art appreciation, due not completing this course the first time. She was extremely hard when reviewing and grading all of my assignments submitted. She gave me a D for every assignment I submitted. The student adviosr department did step in and placed me into Dr. Figueroa class is section and I resubmitted the same assignments to him and I have received A's on the assignment. Yes, transferring my credits was a ease Ms. Kimberly Dixon was very help and professional.

Making Time Count – Online schooling is not for everyone. I am the type that does not like to be micro-managed. I don't need someone standing over me telling me do this now do this to get my work completed. It is hard if you do not know how to manage your time and be productive. It is easier for me to work around my schedule and families needs to attend school and obtain my goal.

I am attending school online, so I always have access to their network, but there are times when things go down and this shouldn't be the case in an online learning process.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Somewhat Worth the Price – The education which I received was somewhat worth the money which I will be paying back in the form of student loans. I received a fair amount of financial aid, but it was reduced during these last quarters of my degree program. They also packaged my financial aid wrong for the last quarter, which has me now footing the bill for the last class required for me to graduate, that was a mistake which is costing me financially. I think the only tip I can give is for the financial aid advisors to make sure they are explaining to the students how the aid will work in regards to how many classes to take per quarter so they wont have to pay out of pocket.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
