My Academic Experience at AIU – The Discussion Board material was recently change so that the first post was due by Wednesday. a total of three post were due by the end of the week. I was more satisfied with only two posts per week, with the rest of the assignment having to be completed before Sunday morning at midnight. Some of the class assignments were difficult to understand. One professor graded us on our grammar skills, but his comments were hard to understand in this area. Other than that, i was satisfied. The workload gets heavy sometimes, but i am managing so far.

I like American InterContinental University Online because the Academic Advisers are always there to help me with any questions or concerns that i may have through their live chat. The courses are challenging, but i think that it all worth it. I was given funds for a new laptop to continue school which let's me know that they truly cared about my education. I am excited about graduating soon and pursuing my new career. I would recommend AIU to anyone. Thanks AUI, for believing in me.

LIMITED RESOURCES – this is an online university therefore they do not have many activity centers but they do offer library, student center and even career assistance.

ONLINE CLASSES – I really enjoy the online classes even with math labs they try to make it as accommodating as possible. Tech support is always available to assist and if you contact your professor they are good with getting back to you. I prefer online rather than traditional you can still chat and communicate with classmates.

My College Major – I enjoy my university. They are very well with classwork and understanding of complicated schedules. When it comes to assistance they attempt to help you as best as possible and for the most part they are very helpful. I do know that when in a financial crunch they are not that welcoming to be of any assistance. But classwork, school overall and degree program all great.

Very Nice Diversity – AIU, for the most part, consists of working adults and military adults. Many are juggling school, work and families. These students cover every race and background. I think that is a great thing.

Minor Tech. Issues – There are always going to be little glitches when it comes to technology; it's not perfect. Though when an issue comes up, everyone is notified quickly and it is usually resolved within 24 hours. Very understandable.

Assignments and Professors Could Be More – The assignments at AIU are interesting and beneficial, to a degree, but they lack the professors personal touch. All assignments are not created by the professor but are regurgitated. You can clearly tell this because they will vary from the assignment, which makes you unsure what to follow; what the assignment says or what they say, and if you do a google or bing search on the assignment question you will get websites where students have asked a help site for answers to their assignment. Also, many professors have confessed that they have not even looked at the text book that is required for us to do out assignments. Questions have been asked about the text book to the professor and they have simply said " I don't know". I could be misinformed about the "why" to these things. They also are slow or don't even bother to let you know when changes are being made in reference to tuition, which I feel is unprofessional. Everything else about the school is amazing though, they just need some fine tuning.

I don't use many campus resources since I am online. The main resource that I use is the library and I don't use it much because it really doesn't meet the needs of the students, in my opinion.

My Perspective – It is wonderful to be able to balance my workload with my education. Traditional mechanims do not fit the criteria for my life. I am able to interact with my instructor virtually and learn. Although, I do feel that the curriculum should be more in-depth. I don't know of any job opportunities for online students. I would say that may be an aspect that should be explored by the institution.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I think that this is by far a much better value than other institutes offering the same exact thing.

Group Projects – I don't like the fact that we have to do group projects. Some people are not as responsible and the other people in the group have to take up the slack.

Looks Good – I have not yet used the post grad services, however I am constantly receiving notices about what will be available to me when I need it.

Criminal Justice – The online classes are all relevant to my major, even the statistics class was geared towards law enforcement. It is a very excelerated program and I move through the clase very quickly.

The AIU resources were good. The network is setup efficently and effectively.

Online Classroom – The onlince classroom setting is wonderful. The professor is right there with you and other classmates as if it was just like a traditional classroom. I think what makes this better though is that if you miss the class online you can replay the recorded classroom chat at a later time or if you didn't get it all in the first time.

My overall AIU Online experience has been nothing but wonderful. The professors have been understanding and knowledgable. The curruculum was given out in a very understanding layout. The class registration process was easy and the workload was workable. There are tuturial classess if you need them. The programs they offer are great and I am completing my assoicat's of Business Administration Degree 7/10/11 and then starting on my Bachlor's.

I have been enrolled with AIU since march of 2010 I will graduate with my A.A. Business with a concentration in Information Sytems in sept of 2011. In November I will begin my BIT with the same school. Being a 40 something and returning to school after so many years could have been much harder if not for all the wonderful people working at my school. My emails are responded to promptly and phone calls returned fast. All aspects of this experience have very good and would not change anything.

Helping With a Job After Graduation – I have been talking with an advisor to help me prepare for a career after I am finished. The school offers a wide variety of assistance in this matter.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
