Health & Safety:
Campus security does show their presence on campus, but the fact that I receive campus alerts about kids getting chased in front of their dorm with a machete at night makes me uneasy. I feel like I can't even walk around my own campus at night without fearing that a crack head is going to rob me. Our campus does take good safety measures, but it freaks me out how random homeless people will walk through the campus sometimes at night. Butttt, campus police is very good with making themselves available at all times of day for your convenience. They gave us their personal phone number to call if needed, so that's a helpful thing to have.

AIU University – They made registration easy, however if you were missing forms or information it was a horrible haedache.

The people at AIU are very accepting of who they enroll in their programs. Registration was simple and the questions were easy to understand.

If You Have a Problem With Something, Keep It to Yourself – I found out the hard way that if you have a problem with how something is run you are better off keeping it to yourself. I found that a social event organized by my program was very unorganized and a waste of time, and I took it upon myself to share that opinion to several of the professors, and even though they appreciated my feedback, they were not thrilled hearing such a negative attitude.

Eating Off Campus Is Ok – I eat off campus of AIU and sometimes the food is good. There are several restaurants near the school.

It Works Out – The financial aid process is ok. I personally think they can do a little better with helping the students fund their education

Not Sure – I don't know much about the majors at this school because I am a transfer student and I only focus on my own

the work load is at a reasonable level for an college student. it is not overwhelming and it also gives me time to take my time on the work to understand it. the resources on campus are very helping and the study are easy to come by and set up with other students. the professors are very caring because it is a small college and they have an better connection with the students. i enjoy that connection as well because too big collleges you barely have time to see the prefessor.

Working Progress – the exsperience was a hassel because the information was not very clear. to it almost felt like it was trying to confuse me on purpose, which in some way it did because it took awhile foir everything to go through. one thing i do not like about it is because they go by parents grows income instead of net income.

Kind of Hard Getting There – When a student does not have a car it can be difficult to get to school. Sometimes it may be something that happens when you catch the bus or hitch a ride from a fellow student. The cost is very coslty whether you have a car or take the bus. Prices are very high and the constant back and fourth costs.I believe this campus needs to come up with something to make it easier to get there. whetehr it be passing out bus passes or giving students a gas card through a gas card drawing!

When in Need of a Quick Meal – I enjoyed going to the Bee Hive on campus to eat lunch during the day between classes. The menu has recently upgraded, a Subway was added. There is a nice variety of food to offer their students. The prices are pretty good, they seem to be a little high if you eat everyday.

A Mixed Salad – When you get a tour of AIC you get to see all the diversity. Its amazing at first than it becomes a routine. You see so many different diversities of people from different parts of the world. its an amazing experience getting to know each student and learning about their religion and sometimes political beliefs. This school is great, it provides many courses which explore the diversities of the world. Students leave with a sense of knowledge, that will help them in the future. When exploring different countries of the world, student will have the knowledge of how they are in that country. This school is a great experience, and students leave knowing so much about other cultures.

Nursing Isn't Simply a Major, It Is a Way of Life. the nursing department at AIC is amazing. the professors are friendly, welcoming and always helpful, and the administrative staff are always willing to help students with anything. as nursing students, we eat, sleep and breathe our nursing material and clinical paperwork, so you develop one on one relationships with the professors. you are on campus most days, even if you don't have classes. courniotes building is well suited for studying students, with multiple labs on the second floor for nursing, physical therapy and occupational therapy students as well as a lounge. there are private study rooms on the first floor along with computer labs; the only thing missing would be a cafe or small sandwich shop, but its only across the street from the main campus buildings and cafeteria. registration is easy at AIC, it is all online with the student selecting the desired classes and submitting them to their advisors; very simple and painless.

International Is in the School Name! diversity is all over campus. it is in an urban low income setting, but the campus maintains mixed ratio for just about everything. students come from both blue and white collar families, but you would never know there was separation. intolerance of other students religious, political or sexual preferences is not accepted on campus, and students are incredibly friendly with each other. the dean of students even comes out on fridays to play catch on the campus green with the students. students don't look at each other in terms of black, white, hispanic or asian; everyone is the same

the library has a generous computer lab in the basement, although you need to watch the time as there are sometimes classes using the room. the main floor of the library has two computer areas with printers, open for all to use and they are in constant use, so if you can get one, grab it. there are more computers, not many tho, located within The Hive (mini cafe on campus) and another computer lab located within Courniotes building, but again watch for classes being held there. the nursing students have a smaller private computer lab in Courniotes. Wifi is readily available on campus, you just need to use your FirstClass login to gain access. Students are only given a limited number of free printouts each semester, and they go fast so be sure to load your account before midterms and finals so you are able to print out your papers. Most students have their own computers or laptops, and again the wifi access all over campus makes it convenient to use your own computer in one of the lounges or classrooms.

Antonio's Grinders – small pizza/sub shop directly across from AIC, it has good food for a reasonable price and is incredibly convenient. the servers are friendly, although can often seem rude or rushed when it gets busy. the subs and pizzas are good, and they are happy to adjust food how you like it. they offer meal deals, have a drive thru window, and are open late on weekends. great for students looking for a change from the cafeteria food.

Not Available for My Major – I was very disappointed when I discovered that AIC does not offer any scholarships for students enrolled in the DPT program, it looks like they only offer scholarships for student athletes.

The campus life is very nice. Renovations are being done in the classrooms and laboratories.
