i was told by alumni and the admissions after completing the courses at AMDA, they encourage students and help them find work in film and Broadway. You can even return to the school to use one the the rooms to practice for auditions or just to practice. that is available for all graduates.

Everyone Is So Creative – This is a performance arts school! so the people are from all over the globe and all have different personalities. Some are dancers, actors, and singers. Or all three! People at this school are so creative and are so outgoing everyone likes to have fun and learn! DRAMA, THEATER, ACTING!

THE ALUMNI PACKAGE – When you finish school at AMDA, you are a alumni. All the alumni can come back when ever they want and use the studios and rehearsal spaces! They always are there for you and your questions will always be answered and they still like to help you out even though you finished!

All About the Teachers – The teachers here are a fantastic asset. You might not always get along perfectly, but most of them are active in the career you are pursuing, so even if their methods aren't for you, they know how it works once you're out of school. The workload isn't too much and there are a lot of opportunities to perform outside of class. The extra general ed courses aren't my favorite, but the performance oriented courses make up for that drag.

Training Is a Lifesaver – All my classes and courses give me the training that I need. Each course covers a different aspect of the performing arts and they are quite intense in the best possible way. Each class is perfectly related to my major and the workload is just the right amount.

Giving Me a Confident Career – The school's training and curriculum are just what I need; intensive vocal training, dance, and acting courses are making me a confident performer. I truly believe that once I graduate and get my degree, I won't have a problem finding work. Unfortunately, I might have to take a year off from the school because I don't have the money to afford this year, but I am hoping that I'll get my degree soon!

People from Around the World – The colors of culture around the campus are flabbergasting. There are people that come from around the world to study in the entertainment capital of the world, trying to make it big. Everyone who attends the school KNOW that they're here for one purpose; to be trained to get work! We want our degrees to have successful careers as actors and performers, and AMDA is the school to get it. I take pride in attending a school with people of many races, classes, views, religions, even sexual orientations. You learn something new about someone every day.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Sometimes the Good Students Get Punished – Knowing that I had only one semester to go to be able to attend a showcase hurts me so much. My grades was great and I was nonimated twice, for acting and stagecombat! My co signer was denied for a bank loan and the school's administration said they couldn't give me anymore scholarships, because I had the maxium of scholarships they could give me. It just hurst to know I was so close to finish and the door was close on my dreams.

This school trains you to be good for auditions. In your older semesters they teach you especially how to audition and they send you off on different auditions for jobs.

This overall experience has been amazing. The teachers are amazing because they have experience and some are still in the business. You are set with a group and if you are as lucky as I am that are very supportive and absolutely great to be around. They make this stressful journey actually enjoyable.

I'm Not Sure – AMDA has very strict classroom policies and doesn't allow much room for flexibility for students. Furthermore a lot of credits are non-transferable to other schools.

Because AMDA is a performing arts College and Conservatory everything is hands on and there for there are no online courses

Decent Facilities – Most of the facilities at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy are rather decent but could greatly be improved upon. The campus activities and the library are all great but the housing at the school need more work to be put into it.

The Right Choice – To be honest i was a little hesitant to move away for college and start a new life in a new country and city, but AMDA made the transition rather smooth and enjoyable. Furthermore i am quite positive that attending AMDA was the right choice for because i have learned so much and have made many connections that will serve me well in the future for both my life and my career. Lastly the school really does a good job in preparing its students for life in how business with all the training and the teachers' expertise in their respected fields.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Good but Could Be Improved – The financial doesn't really help with my tuition very much because i am an international student. However i have a scholarship at AMDA which does help pay some of my housing costs although it would be nice for AMDA to give more financial aid to international students considering they make up about 1/3 of the student population.
Recent Alumnus 2012-06-13T22:36:31Z
Could Be Improved – The computer labs and the printing on campus are all rather reasonable with the amount of students that use the resources everyday but the wireless network can be rather unreliable due to the two block radius it covers and there are certain areas of housing on campus which it tends to cut in and out on.

You Can Start Working Right Away! Teachers can provide you with valuable connections and help you book jobs even before you graduate.

Very Helpful – they seem to genuinely care and be very interested in student success, and although there is zero absence type policy the staff care and it is great training for our futures.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition is rather steep. They do award great scholarships based on the application and audition, but after that they do not work with individuals to find ways to help cover the remaining balance.

I have absolutely loved my time here! The faculty is so inspiring, and they really do want you to succeed and be the best you can possibly be. They also know how the field works and what the industry is really like. Being able to take classes everyday working towards my dream is an amazing feeling, and even the general education classes pertain to the work field so it is beneficial.

AMDA Library – The library is a fabulous theatrical resource! They have sheet music from the original score available from almost every musical ever written, scripts for several musicals as well as straight plays and T.V. shows. There is also a small classical voical repertoire available. the internet is fabulous on campus, but at times a bit frustrating in the dorms. Printing is cheaper than anywhere else around in the library, and there are computers available there as well.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
