Tuition & Financial Aid:
This school always has a representative I can speak with if I need help filling out Financial Aid information. Their financial portal on their website is straight forward and simple to use.

One of the benefits of online college is the flexibility to manage school and a hectic lifestyle. This is only made easier by APUS. The professors post assignments and forum well enough in advance that you are able to complete all assignments on time and still find time to have a daily life. In the event that you need additional time the professors are willing to work with you to make your experience of online school that much easier. I remember when I had to ask for an extension because I had a death in the family. The professor understood and was compassionate and allowed me to post an assignment late. As a Soldier I had my Military training evaluated for college credit before I chose a school. I was upset because some of the schools offered me little credit at all. When I applied to APUS I was pleasantly surprised when my Military training applied to almost all of my elective credits.

After I graduated with my Associates from APUS I was given very helpful information regarding my status as an Alum. I frequently receive emails about career workshop and job fairs. Also, during my classes I would receive invitations regarding joining National Collegiate Scholars Society associated with APUS. They informed me that becoming a member would offer a network of other Alumni that could aid me in possible career prospects. I feel as if APUS truly puts a vested interest in their own.

Being that I am an online student I do not deal with the APUS campus life but I can share my experience with online campus life. The online advisors are very helpful and can be reached at any time. The interaction with them is conducted online in a chat room format and is in real time. After using the student resource center they email correspondence in regards to the recent activity with your advisor and follow up to make sure your problem was solved. The online library is simple to use and has a great of sources that can be used. Essentially if you can think of a topic they have a book, journal or an essay to help you.

APUS has been rated the top online school for a reason because they are the most user/military friendly school online. The books are provided for you with your tuition so you will get the most up to date material and never worry about buying the wrong one. For military students they are great at understanding that military training can be applied to college credit and award accordingly. The navigation in and around the website and classrooms are straight forward and are easy to find what you are looking for. Instructors frequently post announcements and assignment information so the student is well informed. This is the best online school I have attended!

Im a criminal justice major, everything I've done has been what I expected. I've only taken my core classes and while I pilled them all on in a few months, there was not much that was ridiculously hard about the workload. The workload that I have take the material was both fascinating and informal.

The curriculum provided by this school is top notch. And the educators that provide these materials are the very best in their field. Their extensive knowledge of their subjects makes for both a great class and provide real world knowledge. The communication amongst the educators and students is either one on one or as a class.

I chose this school because they provided the best options while deployed in Afghanistan. Their constant communication and understanding of situations out of my control made for a great semester abroad. Transferring credits to this school from CTC was super easy. All they required were my transcripts. Overall great teachers, who understand those who work and go to school full time.

Not a whole lot is offered at this school, but what is offered is highly sought out.

The instructors answer all the questions you have about assignments. Everything here is great.

I love how the school is willing to work with you no matter the circumstances. They understand that we are all adults and have lives outside of school.

The school is online but all of the resources are there for you to use. The online library is extensive and full of useful material.

Going through the Intelligence Studies BA program has been a unique experience. Other students in the program often came from or are currently in some form intelligence related job either through the DOD or military. They come from very diverse backgrounds which is great for getting a better understanding the bigger picture of the intelligence machine.
Being an online university, things like ethnicity, religion and gender aren't really a factor. Everyone is treated equally and are evaluated by their words rather than their appearance.

AMU is an online university but just like brick and mortar universities, each professor has their own style of teaching. I've found that ratemyprofessor.com has been an amazing resource for picking professors that I'll get along with the best. That being said, once you have a professor, all the ones I've had have graded to their syllabus very accurately so as long as you read that you'll be fine.
As far as the curriculum and workload, it's not too oppressive. You have a homework assignment every week or every other week and you're required to discuss weekly topics with students through an initial 250 word post and 2 100 word replies to your peers. Nothing too cosmic.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I'm currently in the application phase for getting financial aid at my school but so far I've been pleased. Their "My Aid Portal" or MAP is very user friendly and easy to use. Whenever I've called in with questions pertaining the financial aid process the counselors have been very helpful with walking me through some of the more involved steps. With their help, it looks like I'll be eligible for Pell grant money which will help tremendously since the military only provides $4,500 per fiscal year which might be going away soon.

I attended American Military University which is under the umbrella of the American Public University System. The degree that I'm working toward is an Intelligence Studies BA and I'm convinced AMU is the best university for people trying to get into the intelligence/homeland defense workforce. Many of the professors have spent decades working for the FBI/DOD/CIA and with that real world experience, they are giving us knowledge and skills directly applicable to future intelligence jobs. I've been very impressed so far.
