The people I have met through classes are all different. Some of them are current military memebers, others are retired. There are even some people that have no personal military background. All of them have jobs and lifes that require school to be flexible. I find that the people you meet through classes are very friendly and easy to get along with even if you disagree on a point in the class. Personally, I could not ask for a better group of people to go to class with.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Although my financial aid will end after four classes, I can continue my degree path because of the excellent tuition fees. My fees include e-books which will help in curbing my personal expenses to fund my education.

Network reliability has been good thus far. However, we must understand that our professors have no control over the network system.

Since I am an online student, I find the best resource is the library. Whether online or via phone/email, I can get help if need be.

My new school is very fair in regards to transfer of credits. The admission advisor is always up front and lets you know that the pre-evaluation is just that. Credits are reviewed, and they would rather give a lower amount of credits that could transfer in, but in reality, it could be more, once official evaluation has been completed. Forms to start transfer credit evaluation is very simple, and if you still need assistance, the advisor will walk you through, step by step.
I am very excited to start my journey with APU!

There were two reasons I chose APUS. First, the cost. I could afford it without having to take out student loans. Second, they had the undergraduate and graduate level courses of study I was interested in. Lastly, from the admission process through to actually taking courses it has been simple. (Which is not to say that the courses are easy, only that you know what is expected of you and what must be done to get good grades.)

I love the online courses at APUS. It's really easy to line things up around my schedule. It is very different from traditional classrooms though. You really have to stay on the ball and avoid getting behind. The responsibility to be involved is entirely on the student. And because involvement/ participation is a part of your grade, it's important to deliberately do so.

The most typical trait of the students at this school is military or government affiliation of some sort. Other than that there isn't really a unifying trait. The students are very diverse.

This school really understands how busy the majority of it's students are. The key for utilizing this, is to plan ahead and just keep professors informed of possible issues. They are very understanding and they will work with you if you work with them.

I start classes in November, so I will not know until then.

The advisor has been in contact when needed, and the school is very flexible with military scheduling.

Not very many other schools offer intelligence studies as a course of study. The fact that you can concentrate in certain areas sets it apart as well.

Online University only, no campus

Most students are people who work full-time, and do not have time to go to a traditional University.

I chose APUS because it was tailored to my needs. I needed an online school that was accredited. They took my past transfer credits from my old community college to CLEP and DSST test. They even applied my military experience to fulfill my general elective requirement's. The military will pay up to $4500 a year as long as maintain a passing grade.

There is an advantage for myself being a working adult that I can take all my classes online in 8 week formats. That saves me time and money. I am in an undergraduate program and all my books are free. They waive the technology fee because I use TA through the Air Force Reserves. There are plenty of webcast to attend and social media is big here as well. Facebook I joined and they have the Quad which has resources and information like career fairs and veterans affairs.

The virtual e-library has many benefits. Very easy to use and get around from looking for books, articles, or websites. They have course specific sections that relate to the course you are taking. For example if I were to take a history class in western civilization I would go to that specific portion of the library that relates to western civ. It will be specific for the articles and books I need to do my research on.

I like the virtual campus. Very easy to navigate. Responses to my emails are returned in a prompt manner. The virtual classroom is easy to use. Locating the readings, assignment's, quizzes, and forums are easy to access. The professor keeps the class engaged with follow up forum responses and questions. All the staff that I talk to over the phone or email are professional and knowledgeable.

I currently attend classes online. My Major is in Criminal Justice and I am currently a Security Forces member in the Air Force. I enjoy the way the online courses are set up because in my career field flexibility is a necessity rather than a convienience.

I awarded the professors in my school with a B- because I felt that overall there could be more interaction with the students. I have had some professors who were constantly involved. However, I have also had others who gave little to no feedback. I think in the online learning environment it is important for students and teacher to maintain as much communication and interaction as possible.

When choosing a grade for this school I felt that an A was well deserved. American Military University also known as American Public University Systems, is well know for flexibility, especially when dealing with Military members. I began taking courses in a deployed location and the administration as well as instructors were very easy to deal with and understanding of my situation. This made it easy for me to focus on giving my all in each assignment without fear that I may lose internet access for a week or two and fail because I cant turn in my coursework on time. Everything in the online classroom was easy to follow and understand. Also, being a military member I found that this school was also flexible for me to transfer military training credits.
