Tuition & Financial Aid:
I wish I would have looked at sooner and researched more to see if I was eligible for more than I received.

The material is not overwhelming to do in time frame of working full time and classes, but not being as computer savvy as most it can be intimidating and sometimes I am not sure of who or what I can contact for help.

There's a lot of resources for students. Online you can find everything from counseling to tutoring. Also, APUS hosts events all over the US for sutdents to attend and meet faculty, students and alumni.

There is a large student body. Since it is an online institution students come from every walk of life. Though the college is based in West Virginia people all over the world attend the college. Diversity is definately strong among the university.

I attend an online college, therefore an online campus is in place. I enjoy the learning styles of each professor. The only negative aspect about online learning/ distance learning is that I connect with each class mate via internet, so it is completely different that face-to-face courses. The online library and databases are outstanding.
College Senior 2013-10-11T20:36:56Z
This doesn't really apply because the courses are all online and it's never a good idea to attempt to guess based on the last name.

The thing I enjoyed most was using real world events to applicable subjects that made me familiarize myself more with what was occurring outside of the United States. Too often, people/students become too dependent upon the media for information who will only tell what they want you to hear, rather than research the issues to get a better perspective.

I have received everything I need for preparation in the real world. Along the way, I have been sent email notifications reminding me of the next step I need to take to make the transition to become a graduate and enter law school a little easier; so I'm not rushing to do everything at the last minute.

The online system at APUS is super easy to navigate and complete course work.

I haven't started my exact major program at APUS yet-- but the classes are frequent and easy to sign up for.

They took almost all my credits and gave me an easy to follow academic plan. New classes are always starting and it's easy to get good grades in most basic ed classes.

The classes start every month and are easy to register for. Some professors are very hands off and not very hard on grading, while others are very strict and have a lot of assignments. The wide variety of students make the class discussions a little difficult sometimes.

American Public University System is a great school to take online courses through. I am enrolled in the military portion of the school, AMU. My books are paid for and shipped to me but ebooks have been made available in every course. The instructors are extremely helpful and attentive. The workload is acceptable. The tools offered through the online classroom are excellent and extremely useful. I would recommend this school to everyone who is looking for a great online academic experience.

American Public University offers a variety of degrees and courses. The registering process is very easy but for those who need help with it, there are many wonderful people available to talk to via e-mail, phone or live chat. The professor are often working professionals who have a great deal of experience in their field and are passionate about the topics they are teaching. Most of the time, they are readily available to answer students' questions, help with difficulties, and are very understanding when life happens and one has difficulties fulfilling the requirements for a class. 8 and 16 week classes are offered which is great for working adults and those who like to take their time to finish a class or speed up their studies. The shorter classes require serious work and there is no time to procrastinate. Weekly forum posts keep instructors and students in touch with each other, quizzes test the knowledge of weekly lessons and final papers require the application of gained knowledge and overall skills.

I am currently in my sophomore year at American Public University. Overall, my experience with this university has been very pleasant so far. Yes, there currently is an issue with the disbursement of financial aid and many students have to wait for months until their FA is processed and a refund disbursed. This issue is annoying and there are cases in which students were not able or willing to continue their journey with this school. But aside from this "glitch", the quality of the classes is excellent and most instructors do an amazing job leading their student. I have had less than a hand full of professors who weren't as active in the classrooms as one may wish for, or didn't grade the students' assignments within the time frame given to them, but those teachers are the minority of the faculty. I had the honor of taking very interesting courses taught by professionals of their subject who included their real-life experience to teach the students important material. I would highly recommend attending this school once the financial aid issue has been resolved. Definitely worth it!

Online university. not sure what students are like

Student interaction is primarily and, in most cases solely, done through online discussion boards. Selection of courses must be conducted with personal goals in mind. Access to classrooms is easy and reliable.

I am studying Sports Management for a Master's Degree. My classes cover a wide array of management principles and sport specific material. All of the classes, as expected of a Master's program, support the degree program.
College Senior 2013-09-21T21:51:46Z
As an online university, the APU system provides an excellent web interface with an extensive online library system. Communication with professors is primarily conducted using email, and they are usually very understanding of personal and professional commitments that may arise during class, especially for military members.

Network reliability seems to be well maintained. Every so often there is an upgrade performed, but it does not seem to affect logging in.
