I have only used the career center a few times, but each time everyone there has been extremely helpful and kind. I was able to meet with a career counselor who helped me realize what field would work best for my needs and skills when I began choosing a major and possible careers. The career center provides many seminars to help with interviews, resumes, dealing with stress, etc. They also provide many opportunities for students to meet with business and prospective employers. The career center is solely focused on helping students find the right career for them and they provide wonderful information and opportunities to do so.

The number one frustration I have had every semester is the increased demand on classes and resources. Unfortunately due to the budget cuts, my school has had to work with less resources while the demand on those resources has increased each semester. The worst part of this is registration for classes; I have to have at least three back-up choices for classes because they fill up so quickly. Apart from these inconviences I have found the faculty and staff to be very helpful and willing to work with me and my schedule.

The overall academic experience has been a good one; the number one complaint I have is that the classes listed in the course catalog are not offered ever semester and some are not offered at all; in addition to this, the registration process is very complicated and can be frustrating when classes fill up so quickly. However, the programs offered cater to a wide variety of interests and the classes required help students gain a solid background in that subject. All of my professors, with the exception of about two, have been wonderful! They all know the material and their passion for the subject has always made me more interested in the class.

I am a Liberal Arts major and I have found all of the professors to be extremely knowledgeable and passionated about the subjects, which has in turn encouraged me to work harder and has increased my loved of each subject. The classes offered to complete the major have all been varied and have provided me with a strong foundation to move forward in my studies. The workload for each professor is different, but I have not had a professor whose workload was unreasonable. Even though some of the work has been challenging, in the end it has all helped me to improve my skills overall so that I am better able to succeed further down the road.

I have yet to graduate anf begin working in my field. I have talked to the work experience staff and they are very helpful and I'm looking forward to getting started in the Spring.

I give this school an A- because besides the teachers being great I have always received a late day to enroll for classes. Some students get earlier dates than others even if you are also a continuing student. Also, the counselor I saw to check over my transcipts to make sure I was on track to finish my degree did not tell me where I can take the reading test for graduation.

I am a Commercial Music - Business major and I cannot explain in words how great the faculty and experience is. They know the industry so much and provide us with invaluable information, not only academically but also in the real life day to day industry.

I myself have never used the career center, however, I have heard great things about the career center from the professors.

There are a lot of resources for all students. There are a lot of 1/2 unit classes that help students with reading, writing, math, writing essays, etc. There is a brand new library which is phenomenal.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Because of the economy, all tuition has heightened. However, for the price to quality ratio, American River College is phenomenal!

The only hard part about them is knowing which building certain services are in and the wait to actually talk to someone. Otherwise they are all very helpful and easy to talk to.

Its rather hard to connect to some people as the community college is a primary way to get credits etc. out of the way in an affordable manner, but there are those who can be talked to.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
American River being a community college is an affordable way to earn your GE credits and earn an AA if you are hurting for money. Takes a couple of years but persistence is the key. we offer scholarships for all academic areas and financial aid to those that qualify

I really have not studied or looked into rather the college career services here at ARC, but from what I've seen advertised around campus the staff and volunteers are pretty knowledgeable about how to help students find a job to fit their current situation or educational background.

I love the professors, they are very interested in teaching and easy to talk to. I haven't had alot of problems with professors, and the ones I have had were smoothed over quickly by a few emails or just conversations after class.

The internet dies sometimes during class when the teacher is showing us something online. The computer lab isn't always open, but if you come at the right times then it's a very nice place.

Lots of campus resources, they have a writing center, computers to use, library, math tutoring, and lots of information on career planning and help with resumes.

The classes are good, love most of my professors. Of all the classes I've taken(15 or more) there have only been maybe 2 teachers I wouldn't take again.

My school has mostly helpful counselors, a Transfer Center, Transfer Day, Career Day, and a Career Center and are more than willing to give you all the information and assistance you may need.

The student body at ARC is very diverse and that sometimes makes it a little overwhelming. While I know that crimes on campus do happen, none have affected me directly as long as I've been attending the school.

I also give this a B- because they block some sites that are needed for school, for example face book, I would like to be part of the LBGT organization but their meetings are during class time. They gave a facebook but because facebook is blocked I couldn't add it. The library is my only computer access.

Since I have been attending I, haven't heard much about the alumni. The career center, CalWORK's, and EOP&S have been as helpful as they can when it comes to needing help.

The resources at my campus are very good the library is big and nice and there is a theatre. There is a Subway on campus which is a good healthy choice. There is plenty of social spots to meet up with friends and study or socialize.

There is a program to help students with english and math. Also essay and writing skills. Taking of this program also count as units.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
