Excellent Experience – American River College is a good school. Maybe it does not have the best and newest buildings and school resources but it's student friendly and knowledgeable. The faculty offers a lot of help during office hours and lecture hours for all the students. Many programs and workshops are available as well as counseling and tutoring in order to help students achieve their goals and succeed in life. I'm happy that I attend this college. It has been a good experience.

Resources Are Good – Most resources are really good at American River College. The library offers great amount of books and the student services has a lot of resources such as the career center which are great for students to use. The cafeteria is still in construction; however, there are still places where students are able to eat on-campus.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Financial Help – Financial aid in American River College is really helpful. Even though it does not cover all the expenses of a college student, it helps greatly.

Great Programs – American River College has many programs that offer counseling and tutoring for students that need help with a certain subject. Even though college textbooks are really expensive, some help is given for students in great financial need to pay for the books.

Manageable Flexibility – American River College has a lot of classes that are offered in class and online. The schedule includes a lot of different hours which offer student flexibility in when they prefer to attend college classes.

Great Responsibility – I am fairly confident with taking online courses at American River College. I am an organized type of person so I have no problem in managing my time for online classes. However, it can get a bit stressful if one does not understand that an online class requires the same amount of time as an on campus class. In an online class, students should also be prepared to do their work independently without much attention from the teacher and students. Even though there is interaction though discussions, verbal explanations are rarely possible.

I Have Not Used These Services – I have yet to use the career services at American River College.

The library has a lot of great books, computer speed is fair and could be better overall. Other resources on campus are slow going with long wait time but quality of information and helpfulness is worth the wait most of the time.

Most Classes Can Be Taken at Once – This upcoming semester will be the first time that I will be unable to take two classes in the same semester relating to my major. The time and day schedule interfered in crossing by 20 minutes. I was hoping that this would not happen, but it did. I wish there were more instructors and courses offered. I am taking about Fashion courses, we need more instructors, more courses offered more days and times. To be eligible to transfer or get an AA the way it is set up is as follows: you have to take class ONE before you can take class TWO, to take class FOUR (random class you pick that sounds interesting) you have to take ONE, TWO ,THREE with passing grades first. Therefore it takes at least 3 solid years (excluding summers) to get out. I love the program but it really takes a long time. Math classes are offered all of the time literally. There is not enough space to work , classes are off campus because of the space issues. Computers are needed and computer science gets all the time and space.

Better Than Half – Most people at this college are nice and helpful to others overall. Then there are some people who attend classes who are rude, fall asleep and openly curse and state how they are only there because they had to either go to school or sit in jail. And of course the ones who attend long enough to get their government support they "earned" by being irresponsible and popping out a child or four. Most of these people fill up the classrooms the first two weeks of school then quit, which is great because those people are only a distraction anyway.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Climbing Tuition, but Helpful Center. As long as you are willing to go through the lines and fill out copious paperwork, you will be met with friendly and well informed staff who will assist you in acquiring finances for your education.

Friendly and Helpful – The admissions and counseling center are always swift and courteous. The career center has the same environment. They will review your resume and have mock interviews regularly. The financial aid center tends to have very long lines, but you will not feel like a number once you reach the counter. This school will support you all the way.

There's Always Something – Counselors can help with just about anything, and there are general classes you can take to help you plan for post-grad. The resources are available and it's not too difficult to find them, everything is readily available and if not posted on a bulletin board or in visible laid out forms there are plenty of resources online at the school's website. Their goal is to get you out and moving forward towards your dream.

Just Keep up With It – The easiest mistake to make when taking online courses in general, no matter where you take them, is procrastinating to the very end. Finish your work as close to the assignment date as possible and don't wait until the last second of the deadline or you might turn in low quality work that doesn't receive a passing grade. Finishing early and asking questions, if you need help from students or professors, leaves time to correct mistakes and turn in quality work that leads on to a better understanding of any of the following assignments.

Enjoyable and Straight Forward Choice – There's always resources available for everything on campus, and many of the students and faculty are friendly and helpful in helping you figure out things. A low pressure setting environment with manageable classwork, and many of the professors don't require books that cost an arm and a leg. I like this campus quite a bit and I hope that any schools I transfer to will be as good or better.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Get Stuff Done Early – Financial aid is readily available for those that qualify, and the BOG fee waiver reduces your class costs per semester to less than $10 total. Just make sure to get things taken care of way before the last deadlines or you'll be stuck in lines for hours as everyone's trying to do the same thing.

So far I really like my college. I've some really great professors that I have learned alot from. They have worked with me so I can succeed in my education especially when I've been sick. My health is not the best but because I constantly communicate with my professors they tend to work with me with keeping up with homework, tests, or anything else that needs to be turned in. As long as I continue with my education plan I will have my associate degree next year and be able to transfer to a university and get my BA next.

I think our computer system is great and is always working for me... I do have a problem that the campus doesn't have enough copy machines available to us students. It would be nice if there were more copy machines around the campus.
