The career center always seems to be advertising themselves. They really want to help. It is an excellent networking source.

I have not yet graduated nor transfer to a different school but from what I see, those who attend the career services at American River College has had success finding a job. The reason why many students were able to find jobs were because American River College has professors who well very experienced in their field and they also have hands on training which makes their teaching really good because they know what they are talking about. They will help you understand in a much more easy and very effective way.

I wasn't able to understand some of the topics fully because the book didn't make sense to me. At that point I think I needed face to face interaction with a professor.

The student body have alot of events like Universities coming to visit & multicultural day, music events, art events, club events. Many students have jobs & are attending college at the same time. The college has its diversity in all of the clubs we have on campus.

Well I love how they have so many possibilities of different classes to take.
American River College is impacted so many students are there just trying to get there degree & transfer. Sometimes I get lost because I feel like a fish in the ocean. The class sizes are about 20 people per class after students drop if they don't like the class. I can actually talk to my professor & they know who I am. Some professors don't have you buy the book. Others have you buy it but its for the entire year long if you continue with them. I enjoy the events going on by the student government. This college actually knows what their doing to help out their students I really appreciate it.

There are great classes with teachers who know what they are doing. Paralegal classes are not offered at many colleges so this is a great place.

Good classes, most professers are interactive and keep you on track.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition is pretty high and just keeps growing. Books are becoming more expensive with every higher class, and the food is expensive. Financial Aid doesn't pay enough to be able to support myself and pay for daily living while in college.

The classes are great and the priority registration I have is just awesome, for it let me register for classes way before everyone else. I had all my classes enrolled before registration opened for other people.

Working full time and being an above average student can be hard. I found that online courses alleviated stress related to commuting, parking fees and missing work.

So far I have taken two online courses and I liked them. It is different from a traditional classroom experience in the sense that you don't have a professor reminding you when assignments are due; you have to be responsible and remind yourself. Due to this, it can be hard to forget. You also lose that face-to-face interaction with the professor. It is also harder to reach the professor if have any questions. The positive side of online classes is that it is more flexible and easier to work around your schedule. You decide when you want to do an assignment as long as it is done by the due date. I personally like being able to decide when I want to get an assignment done because I might be busier on other days and not be able to do it.

I attended another college for one semester and I got lucky that all classes I took there were transferable to American River College. Due to that, I wasn't far behind. Since I am majoring in Nursing, my classes are challenging, but they work with my schedule. I like taking my General Science courses in the mornings, that way I have the rest of the day to study and do homework. American River is very flexible in working with your schedule if you have work or other priorities because they offer so many classes.

I'm a Nursing major and because of this, it is expected that my classes be challenging. I have taken Chemistry already and received a A- in that class. It was very challenging, but I learned a lot. Currently, I am taking Bacteriology and the professor is amazing. I also currently have an A in that class. Since Nursing is such a popular major, you really have to work hard if you want to succeed. Don't except the classes to be easy because they won't be. They are designed to challenge you.

The student center is great. I would go there alot, because the library was always packed. I would also see the tutors there, they were friendly, but they would just give you the answer, instead of explaining why the answer is what it is. The library is nice, but its hard to find a place to sit, or find an available computer. The library always feesl really crowded.

I like the diversity at my college campus. There is people of all different races, and its interesting to get to know them and see their view of things. ARC always has good academic programs, although i have not been apart of them, I always see flyers everywhere about them. As for campus life, i would like ARC much better if it were a bit cleaner. It always smells kind of funky and the trash cans are also filled to the top. But other than that ARC is a good campus.
College Senior 2013-05-14T21:23:28Z
All the computers work very well, and always have high speed and reliability. Printing on campus is also very convenient and inexpensive. Anytime i bring my laptop on campus i have never had any trouble getting wireless access. Overall the computer network at ARC works very well.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I am always quick to receive my BOG assistance but ARC's financial aid office has been slow to review my applications thus far.

Very religious :( I believe school politics should leave religious views out of decisions as much as possible.

Many resources for help. Library is brand new as well as student resource center. EServices helps you sign up for classes; that's a new building too. Their are many tutoring spots to go to as well that have long hours of availability if you are stuck with homework you cant figure out and the professors office hours dont match with your schedule..

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I think the education I received is well worth the money I paid. I think the unit fees are high, but I recieved the Bog Fee Waiver, so this didnt affect me so much.

I've had an absolutely wonderful experience with great teachers, excellent education, great friends, and a full sense of preparedness when going on to my next step in life.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
